Chapter 1
I know it's bad, but it's my first, I hope you enjoy! I'll update later!
"AND DOWN!" Mr. Simons basically screamed at us, as the gym class went down for a push up. My knees were already grass stained from all of the girl push-ups I did. I look behind me. My friend Abby was looking at the teacher, probably secretly praying for the bell to ring, though, class had just started.
"Abby!" I hiss, going down for yet another push-up. She looks up as if she just got blamed for something she didn't do. "What?!" She replies in a loud whisper. "You ready?! The teacher isn't looking" I say. Without a word, we both get up quickly. I tap Sierra on the back as we run, signaling here that we are going behind the bleachers. Sierra gets up, we look back to make sure no one saw us.
"Thank god he didn't see us" Abby says, letting out a breathe since we had just been running. Me and Sierra nod our heads in agreement.
"Ashley, you have money, right?" Sierra asks me, her eyes widening. I take 20 dollar bill out of my bra (basically where I keep everything). Without a word, we all head over to 7/11. The convenience store ugh across the street from the school. Aka where every kid from our high school goes, everyday.
As we walk in, the guy at the cash register looks at us, but says nothing. I shrug it off and pick out a few fattening things. A diet Pepsi, and a pack of M&Ms. Since the others were still browsing for their things, I went ahead and paid for mine.
"And that will be 2.57 as your total" the cashier informs me, after he's finished ringing up my things. I look into his eyes. They were pale green, amazing. I snap out of it and take my 20 dollars out. He's tall. Maybe 6'1" at least. Maybe taller. He's got short, choppy, dark brown hair. His name tag says "Finn". I hastily give him the money. He gives me the change and I wait outside 7/11.
I kept thinking about Finn. He was gorgeous. Amazing. I had only talked to him for a minute, but it felt like forever. I look down, forgetting I was wearing my PE clothes. Blue shorts and a red shirt with the banner
CRESCENT CITY SHARKS with an enormous shark on it. Embarrassing. He knew I was a high school student when he was obviously a graduate. Why is he on my mind so much? A random kid who rang up my soda and candy. Who cares? You know, I should just drop it.
Within moments, Abby and Sierra came out laughing.
"What happened?!" I ask, trying to bud into what they were laughing about by smiling as well.
"That creepy cashier stared at you as you walked out and asked if we were your friends! Weirdo." Sierra says, taking a drink of her slurpy.
I gaze out. Are they serious?
We walk back just in time for the bell to ring, and we rush to change our clothes in the locker room. I can't stop thinking about him. Maybe I'm just exaggerating, or stupid. He's probably like five years older than me. I need to stop. But I can't.
