Chapter 19:
After going through security, and waiting to board, we were all finally on the plane. This is my first time being on a plane, and I was surprisingly calm. I had a window seat, and Finn was right next to me. Sierra and Abby were in front of us.
When the plane took off, I felt it in my stomach. I felt nauseous, but it went away pretty quickly. And soon enough, we were up in the air. We were leaving California, the beach, the place where I was born and raised.
I felt my eyelids start to get heavy, and I fell asleep. I promised myself I wouldn't, but I couldn't help myself. I had only gotten about an hour of sleep last night, so I needed it. I slept pretty soundly.

When I woke up, I asked Finn how long I had been asleep. He told me around four hours. And in my opinion, it felt like 1 hour.
I looked out the window, it was an amazing view. I felt like Mary Poppins, when she was in the clouds. But I was in an airplane. What's the difference?
Landing was the opposite feeling from when we took off. It was like when you are on a roller coaster, a you're about to go down. The adrenaline rush you feel.
Finn held my hand as we got off. The smell was different. It was a mix of fresh air and pollution. Instead of fish and ocean water, which I'm used to.
When we went to baggage claim, I found my things. It was heavy, but I dealt with it. And we walked to the street and caught a cab pretty quickly. It fit me, Finn, Sierra and Abby. With no extra room to spare.

Entering our new neighborhood was quite amazing. It was much different than Crescent City. I couldn't help myself but look out the window the entire time. It was fascinating.
After getting out of the crowded taxi, we went to the trunk and got all of our stuff out. I couldn't believe we were finally here.
Abby and Sierra went to their apartment, and me and Finn went to ours. When we walked in, me and Finn went to the front desk, and signed a few papers, and got the key. And we took the elevator up to our new home.
126B. We were on the 18th floor. Me and Finn walked into the apartment. I got butterflies. It was already furnished, and it was huge. I dropped my stuff in the middle of the living room. And I immediately started to explore my new household. It was a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment. A huge kitchen, and a large window in the living room that looked out to New York City. I was in awe.
"This is amazing" I told Finn, I was gazing around the room.
"I know right" he replies, coming up behind me.
I grab my phone out of my back pocket and call Abby. The phone rings once and she answers.
"Hello?" Abby says into the phone.
"Abby!" I reply.
"Yeah?"
"How's your new place?!"
"We are on the 15th floor, with a decent view of the city! It's perfect!!" Abby squeals in excitement.
"Mine is on the 18th floor and an amazing view of New York!" I gush.
"After me and Sierra get semi-situated, I'm coming over! What's the room number?"
"126B"
"I'll see you in a few!"
I hang up the phone and grab my bags. I head to he master bedroom. When I walked it, I noticed how amazing it really was. It had a balcony, and it was all white. The carpet, the walls, the bedding, everything. But I knew Finns band posters were gonna add a bit more to it.
There are two white dressers on the west wall. I choose one, and start unpacking. I couldn't wait to settle in.
~~~~~~~~~~
After unpacking, I went to the living room and plopped on the big white couch. It was really comfortable. I wanted to lay on it, but it looked too perfect to be honest. So I just sat.
I couldn't believe I was in New York City. I always wanted to come here, but it was that fantasy that you never thought would actually come true. It was perfect. Damn, mom would be proud. I missed her.
