Chapter 25:
"Finn" I gasp, my voice goes soft. I am trembling.
Finn gets up off the couch, and puts his hand on my cheek and looks into my eyes.
"I missed you" he admits to me, looking at his feet after taking his hand off my face.
"I missed you too" I quickly go in for a hug. I squeeze him, and I didn't wish to be anywhere else but here.
"Where did you go" I asked Finn, tears forming in my eyes.
"I went to Rays house. He's a coworker." He looks at me in the eyes after we break apart from the hug, whipping my tears off with his thumb.
"I'm so sorry" I tell him.
He smiles and tells me it's okay.
I smile back, and walk into the room.
Finn follows, not saying a word. I go outside to the balcony, take a deep breathe, and pull out the second box of cigarettes. I see Finns eyes widen
"You smoke?" He asks me, his voice sounds like he's about to cry.
"Yeah" I tell him, I pull out the lighter and light it. I put my mouth on it and
inhale.
"Give me one" Finn walks closer to the balcony door.
I grab one out of my bag, hesitantly. I give him a lighter as well. He walks closer, so he is now standing outside.
He lights it, and inhales, then starts having a coughing fit. I giggle, not in a silly way, but just to get him to smile. And it worked.
Me and Finn stood outside, looking out at the city, inhaling the deathly smoke. We are silent.
I throw the cigarette butt off the balcony. Probably not the best idea, but I didn't care. But I decided I needed to do something.
I walked back into the room, leaving Finn outside. I sit on the bed, and pull out my phone. I call Sierra. The phone rings and shortly after, she answers.
"Why are you calling me" was the first thing Sierra told me.
"Because I want to know what's wrong" I reply, I wasn't expecting that answer.
"Nothing. I'm just sick of you coming to me with your problems." She says, rudely.
"What do you mean? You are my best friend, Sierra"
"Well I didn't ask for that"
I wanted to cry. I didn't know what had made her turn on me so quickly. Sierra was the one who wanted me to say what I was thinking. She forced me to vent.
"Is Abby mad too?" I ask, trying to sound rude as well, I failed.
"I don't know, ask her yourself." She hangs up the phone.
I slowly pull the phone away from my face. Not believing what was just said to me.
"What's wrong?" Finn comes inside and sits next to be on the bed.
"Sierra is mad and I don't know why" I explain, I'm still staring at my phone.
I don't
"Well you've still got abby"
"How do I know that?" I look at him.
Finn looks down as if he didn't know what to say next.
I lay on the bed. And my phone rings. I don't recognize the number, but I answer it anyway.
"Hello?"
"Hi is this Ashley Taylor?" The lady on the other line asks me.
"Speaking" I position myself so I am now sitting up.
"This is forever 21. We would like to inform you that you have got the job! Your first day is tomorrow at 10 o'clock am"
"OMG thank you!" I say, a little too unprofessional.
"You're welcome, see you tomorrow, Ms.Taylor"
"Okay!"
I hang up the phone and squeal.
"Who was that?" Finn asks, he was sitting next to me with a confused look on his face.
"Forever 21. I applied to be a cashier" I tell him, saying it as if he already knew.
"Really? Did you get the job"
"Well duh".
"That's great!"
And in 24 hours, I will be at forever 21, working. Which I'm actually looking forward to.
