Chapter 28:

I woke up the next feeling hot. My face was burning and I couldn't stop coughing. Thank god it's Sunday.

I climbed out of bed and slipped my slippers on. I went out to the balcony, and passed deep sleeping Finn. I lit a cigarette and inhaled, I watched the city, full of traffic. Seven am in the morning, and it's surprising, so many people.

Half-way through my cigarette, I started to feel dizzy, I could barely stand straight. So I went to go lay back down. It was early anyway, and I was sick and I wanted to rest for work tomorrow.

Finns P.O.V

I woke up at eleven. Next to me is Ashley, sleeping soundly. Her face is bright red, so I lay the back of my hand on her porcelain cheeks. Warm.

I get up, and lightly walk to the closet. I open the doors, and pulled out two things, a bro tank and jeans. Casual.

I walk out into the living room, where the door is. And next to that, is a pair of shoes. Mine. I slip them on and quickly exit through the door. I have something to do.

Then, I arrive in the hallway, I walk down and use the elevator. I go down, standing straight. When I am at the lobby, I speed walk to the double doors. I am now at the street.

J-walking, I find myself at Sierras house. I go up the elevator, and through the hallway. I knock. Within seconds, Sierra answers.

"Finn" she looks surprised to see me.

"Sierra, we need to talk." I admit, looking behind me to see if anyone was going to approach me.

"About what?" Sierra asks, her black hair is pulled up into a ponytail and she's wearing hello kitty pajama pants and a nike sports bra.

"You'll see. Coffee?" I suggest.

"Ugh" she sighs. "I'll be back in a sec."

She keeps the door wide open, which allows me to see the inside of the apartment. It's a bit smaller than mine and Ashley's, the walls are a light blue. The flooring is dark cherry wood.

When Sierra comes back, she notices me looking inside. She gives me a confused look. I get the hint, and step away from the door. She is now dressed in skin tight jeans, and a maroon v-neck with her purse on her shoulder.

"Ready?" I ask her, she rolls her eyes and walks right passed me. I follow, smiling.

When we get to the street, she waves and a taxi picks us up. We get in and we squeeze into the little, yellow cab.

Arriving at Starbucks, we walk in. She looks at me, from the corner of my eye, I can see it. But she turns away slowly.

Our turn to order, I get an iced coffee, while she gets something with ten million words that I don't remember.

We sit down at one of the little, round tables by the window. She puts her bag on the back of the chair, and looks at me.

"What?" Sierra hisses, she looks frustrated.

"Nothing" I look down and laugh.

"So, why are we here?" She's asks me. She doesn't want to be here. I can hear it in her tone.

"That one night at camp" I remind her, her eyes widen as if she just saw a plane crash.

"Oh yeah, that was two years ago."

"Why do you still love me" I stare into her eyes.

Looking mesmerized, she says "I can't stop thinking about it. And I started hating Ashley for it."

"Well, I haven't fully let go of you either." I admit, biting my lip, not even thinking about Ashley.

"Really?" She asks, her face is glowing.

I put my index finger up to my lips, and nod. Summer of 2012 was unforgettable. Sierra gave me so much to remember.

"I wanted to know you more, but I never got to talk to you after that. After two years, I forgot and then Ashley met you. She loved you and I didn't want to ruin that. But now that you guys are serious and committed, it's hard" she pours her heart out.

"I know, I know. It's hard, even for me. Sierra when I saw you walk into 7/11, I wanted to say something. But you wouldn't have recognized me. But then when I saw Ashley, my heart melted, in a good way"

"Well that makes me feel a whole lot better" Sierra rolls her eyes. Understandable.

"But I never stopped thinking about you" I say, looking on the bright side, yet, there was no bright side to this situation.

"Awh" Sierra smiles, she takes a drink of her frappe.

I take her hand in mine from across the table. She looks down and grins. I do the same. Her smile is contagious.

I get up, her hand still in mine. She grabs I throw my drink away, she keeps hers. We walk outside, the hand holding turned into interlocking fingers.

"Let's walk around" I offer, gesturing the opposite way of home.

She bites her lip, and nods. We walk around, noticing all the skyscrapers, buildings and many many people. She dragged me into stores, and we spent a good three hours there. It was amazing.

Ashley's P.O.V

I woke up again at two, I got up. I could tell Finn wasn't in the house, due to no noise. He's always making noise, you usually hear Finn before you see him.

I walk out into the kitchen in only an oversized Beatles t-shirt. I go into the fridge and pull out leftover brown rice from last night. I heat up in the microwave.

While it's preparing, I hear Finn come through the door. But he's not alone. He's with Sierra. And they aren't separated, their lips are together.

"FINN OH MY GOD!" I scream.

Finn pulls away from the kiss and looks at me. So does Sierra. He looks really scared, he should be.

"Ashley! I thought you were working today!" He admits, walking towards me, leaving Sierra standing in the door-way.

"ARE YOU STUPID? TO DO THIS AGAIN?!" I am falling to the floor, almost crying. But I can't let them know how weak I really am.

"Ashley, it's nothing." Finn tells me, calming. But I'm not.

"YOU GUYS CAME THROUGH THE DOOR MAKING OUT! THATS NOT NOTHING"

I am shaking, and I run into the bedroom. I take things out of drawers and put them into a duffle bag. Only clothing so far. I take a pair of jeans and pull them on. I am crying and I can't stop myself. I run into the bathroom and grab random things of mine. Makeup, face wash, I don't know what else.

Finally, I grab my purse, and I run. Finn and Sierra are standing in the living room, arguing. I rush passed them, and Finn barely notices. He's too busy yelling at Sierra.

I don't want to spend money on a taxi, so I start walking down the road. My hair is in a messy bun, I have a knee-length Beatles shirt on, and a pair of dark wash jeans along with vans. I'm a mess.

I finally get to a bench, it's in the middle of a busy sidewalk, but I don't care. I sit down, and grab my phone from my bag. I call the one I know will answer. My grandma.

It rings.

"Grandma?" I ask, my voice is shaky.

"Ashley! Are you okay?" She sounds worried.

"Finn cheated on me" I'm bawling and people are staring at me.

"Sweetheart, I don't know what to say. Do you want to come home?" I don't know if she's being serious.

"Yes but I can't"

"We will see what we can do" she replies. "But for now, I'll call you later. We are not at home right now"

I sigh and hang up. This is the second time Finn has done this. And I have no idea what to do.
