Chapter 26:

I woke up to my blaring alarm next to me. It's my first day of work, which I'm not totally dreading.

It's my first day, so I wanted to look decent. So, I picked out my outfit. A black pencil skirt, with a cropped LA shirt and some matte black flats.

For makeup, I did my everyday thing. Winged eyeliner and a nude lip. Nothing too fancy.

Hair, straightening it, like I do everyday. It's totally ruining my hair, which had just been dyed, but I didn't care. I don't care.

"Finn, I'll see you around 5ish" I inform Finn, walking over to the bed where he is fast asleep and shaking his shoulder.

"Okay, I'll see you soon" Finn tells me, I know he's half asleep, but I walk out anyway.

When I make it down to the busy street, I catch a taxi. The streets are crowded, full of cars, for this busy work morning.

When I arrive to my new job, forever 21, I am greeted by the manager, who I had met just a few days before. She told me all the basics, I already knew how to do all of this stuff anyway, but I listened.

Now here it was, I was at the cash register, ringing up all of people's new clothing. It was fun, nothing too exciting, but I got through the day.

When I got home, Finn was overjoyed to see me. I was happy to see him too, although, he came up to me with a huge bear hug, as I went in for a quick side hug.

"How was work?" Finn asks me, he's trembling.

I lay head against his shirt. And a strong scent is coming from it, is not a good scent.

"Finn, have you been smoking weed?" I pull away from the hug. He looks confused.

"Um, well, yeaaaaah" he is so high.

"Ugh, seriously?" I am not happy nor upset.

"Yeah, what's the problem?"

I walk into the bedroom, without a word. I open the balcony doors, sitting there is the new mermaid-shaped ash tray I bought along with a half finished box of cigarettes and a lighter. I pick them both up and light one. I put it in my mouth, and puff.

I heard the doors opening behind me. I knew it was Finn. He came up behind me, and hugged me. That's all he does, really.

"I'm sorry, babe" Finn apologized, he let out a breathe.

"It's okay, I don't mind really." I admit.

Finn quickly broke the hug, and briskly leaves the balcony. I was confused, and a little nervous. But I let it go.

Seconds later, Finn comes back. In his hand, a weed pipe, lighter and a little bag of weed. I was stunned.

Finn sits down on the floor of the balcony, and looks up to me, he looks like he's going to whimper at me as if he were a dog.

"Want to join?" He asks, he gave me the puppy face, which I couldn't stand.

I look around, the view is great from here. I have a decision to make, and I don't know what to say.

"Sure" I put out my cigarette, and toss it into the ashtray. I sit down, "criss-cross apple sauce" as they used to call it in elementary school.

Finn hands me the pipe, which had already been lit, and I inhale. I pucker, as if I had just eaten something sour, but I let the smoke come through my mouth. It was a horrible smell, but beautiful at the same time. I inhaled once more.

Finn looks at me, and smiles, I handover the pipe, which was fascinating actually, it was an aquamarine color, with red stripes going down it. He sucks in the drug, letting the white smoke develop, and come out of his mouth. Pure.

Finn and I look at each other, and we laugh a little. I felt dizzy, but not a drunk dizzy. I couldn't explain it, everything was blurry.

I got up, using the railing to guide me, and I walked through the balcony doors, leaving Finn outside.

And that's when I check my phone. One new message from Sierra. I open it. It reads:

"I don't want to see you ever again".

I am confused, I had done nothing wrong. We are living our dreams and now she suddenly hates me?

I respond.

"Why?"

And she answered within seconds.

"I am in love with Finn".
