Falling for Finn

Chapter 34

Chapter 34:

It was now October, the Halloween month. Where everyone prepares for the one day, the day you can be someone else for 24 hours. But with Halloween, comes parties. And with parties, comes going to them.

On October 24th, Friday, Finn came through the door in a hurry. I was sitting on the couch, sipping a cup of lukewarm coffee that didn't taste very well, and watching the rain. Drop upon drop gluing to the window.

"Hey" I notice Finn, and set down my coffee on the coffee table.

"We've gotten invited to about 10 different Halloween parties in the past week!" Finn grabs his iPad from his bookbag. He swipes through his email and sits down next to me. He goes through and shows me all 20.

"Which one?" He finally said, after he read each and every email to me, which took about 15 long minutes.

"Whichever you want, babe" I shrug, I hadn't remembered any details about a single one, so I'm letting him choose. "I guess whichever is biggest".

"That's probably going to be Brandon's" Finn looks down at his iPad and I can see him searching for that email.

"So, what should I go as?" I ask, biting my lip and reaching down, grabbing my coffee, taking a sip. Finn looks up and laughs. He sighs.

"Surprise me!" He kisses my forehead and finally gets up. I position myself on the couch so I'm sitting with my knees to my chest.

"I have no idea what to do about him though!" Abby admits, she's walking back and forth in my room, while I'm sitting on the floor on my laptop, searching for a costume for the Halloween party.

"What have you guys been texting about?" I ask, not even looking up from my computer, my glasses are starting to fall down to the bridge of my nose.

"Random stuff, life!" Abby stops in her tracks and stares at me, noticing I'm not even half paying attention.

"Well, we aren't in high school anymore, so I would just see how it goes and not rush things" I finally look up at her.

Abby plops down on my bed, looking over at what I was doing. I was looking through the costumes on a website I found.

"What about this one?" I click on a costume, it was a nurse. It was white with a red trim. It was strapless, and came with your typical nurse hat.

"Finn would love to see Nurse Ashley Taylor!" Abby teases, I playfully hit her on the arm and laugh.

"So, want to come pick it up with me? It's only a few blocks away" I state, closing my computer.

"Yeah, I'll look at some. I don't even has a costume for that party yet" Abby agrees.

When we get to the costume shop, it's playing Gun N' Roses, and there's a few people there. The place is huge. Abby and I walk over and I see the nurse outfit.

"Here it is" I say, holding it, I look at the package. It's $49.99, but I don't care about the price.

"I'm going to go look at some for me too, I'll be back" Abby starts walking off as she talks.

I walk around, looking for some fishnets, while Abby was looking for her costume. I find a pair, your typical black fishnets, and buy the costume and them. Abby follows me after she buys her policewoman costume.

Before going home, Abby and I make a stop at Starbucks, where we sit and talk. We talk about the Halloween party, and how we decide to have fun. No worries, no nothing. Just fun.
