Chapter 31:

Ashley's P.O.V.

Seeing Finn was amazing. And I forgave him. Quickly. Too quickly. But that's okay.

I was out of he hospital within a few days. When I came home, Sierra, Abby and Finn were there. I was in Finns T-shirt and spandex that he had brought to me while I was in the hospital. My unwashed hair and no makeup made me look like a zombie but everyone was here. And even Sierra seemed happy that I was here.

"I'm so sorry" Sierra looks at me, her wide eyes looking up at me. I smile, as she gets up. She goes in for a hug. I squeeze her tight. I couldn't imagine my life without Sierra.

After we separated, we all sat down. Finn and I on the loveseat, while Sierra and Abby sat in two different chairs on each side of the couch.

"Why did you do it?" Abby asks, after a moment of silence. I had no idea how to respond. Why did I do it? Was it so much pain that I couldn't deal with? Was it an instinct?

"I don't know" I responded. I wasn't lying. I truly didn't know why I did it. But I'm happy I didn't succeed.

"Do you know how broken we all would've felt?" Sierra admitted. Her voice cracked as if she was about to cry.

"I know" I looked at the ground.

"I love you" Finn finally spoke.

"I love you too, Finn" I reply, my eyes widened.

That night, after Abby and Sierra were gone, I lay in bed. Finn had already fallen asleep, but I was wide awake. I couldn't fall asleep. My biggest thought was: "what would have happened if I would have taken one-too-many pain killers?".

When I woke up, I realized it was Tuesday. Time for work. Finn had explained that there was "something that needed to be taken care of" so I could be out of work for a little while. But that time is over, and I have to be there.

I showered, and did my usual makeup. I wore some skinny jeans and a loose fit Abercrombie hoodie. Some vans to finish the look off. I grabbed my bag and tip toed passed sleeping Finn.

After catching a taxi, and arriving to my work, one of my coworkers, Joni, who I had met while I was restocking jewelry, welcomed me back. She's short, maybe five foot two, and has long, dark brown hair that goes to her lower back. Joni reminds me of a fairy or a pixie, so delicate.

I go behind the counter, and put my bag down near my feet. I helped the first customer.

Work was long, and boring. It felt like days I was there, yet I was only there for eight hours.

When I got home, I found Finn in his boxers, watching some ghost show I had never heard of. When he saw me, he immediately got up. He hugged me, and I put my cheek on his chest. I could hear his heart beating. Everything was back to normal and I was happy.
