Chapter 40

A few months passed, and they were stressful ones. Finn and I have so much to do to prepare for the baby. Which we had found out, would be a girl. But one day, after my 19th birthday, was another day that happened to change my life.

It starts with a dinner, Allie, Abby, Danny, Cai, Finn and I go out to dinner at a super fancy restaurant. And I saw Finn reaching for his pocket. Everyone's eyes widen, as they looked at each other. And then, he got up from the booth, and got on his knees.

"Ashley Joy Taylor. We have been together for almost two amazing years now, and I have decided I am utterly in love with you" he starts. My eyes fill up with tears. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"

Finn opens the box, it reveals a ring, three diamonds lined up I'm order, and it was a beautiful sterling silver.

"Yes!" I scream, as loud as I can. I was crying now, and the entire restaurant started applauding. This was the engagement I had always hoped for.

Finn stands up, and grabs my hand. I stand up and we kiss. Right in the middle of the restaurant, where many "awes" are being said.

We sit back down, and I wipe my tears with my finger tips, trying to avoid ruining my mascara. But they are still coming down my face.

"Congratulations!!" Abby squeals.

"Thank you" I reply, I rest my head on Finns shoulder.

That night, Finn and if were sitting at the computer, searching and searching for baby names, writing down some that we liked.

"Okay we are down to three names" I say, looking down at the notebook. We had written down five, and now were we left with just Mabel, India, and Jane.

"To be honest, I like India" Finn says.

"Me too" I look up, and smile.

"So, India Noel Hayes?" Finn asks me.

"It's beautiful"

That night, after Finn was long asleep, I wrote something. It was a letter to my daughter.

"Dear India, I don't know when I'm going to give this to you, but I am writing this to my beautiful daughter. I want you to know something, everything that you're going to go through, through middle school, high school and beyond, it will always happen for a reason. The struggles we face, that humans face, they are to prepare for the better. I just wanted to remind you. Love, mom."

I find an envelope in the office, and sealed it up. Putting today's date at the bottom right corner in small print. It's weird, calling myself mom. Having that title.

I don't even know what to think. My life is getting better and better. Little things happening, I'm going to be a mommy, and a wife.
