The house suddenly exploded with screams. They reached Christy's ears first, bursting her out of her slumber rather violently. She flew up into a sitting position on the spot, facing the man beside her. She hurriedly leaned to the side to turn the lamp on beside the bed and faced Link, watching with wide eyes as he arched his back away from the bed. He gripped the blankets in fistfuls, baring his teeth and making a grunting sound as if he was fighting something she couldn't see.

She then watched as he rolled over and hit the floor, and she gasped, quickly throwing the blankets off of her and springing out of the bed. She ran to his side of the bed and knelt to the floor, trying to place a consoling hand on his chest. He kept writhing and crying out as if he was being dipped in boiling lava and she couldn't even touch him.

"Link, honey it's going to be okay. You're going to be okay, it's just a bad dream," she said, knowing all too well that he couldn't hear her. The screams pealed out of his chest again and it was the most ear piercing, shrill scream she had ever heard. She covered her ears with her hands and lowered herself to a crouch as if she was practicing a tornado drill, her heart thundering in her chest.

"What the hell is going on in here?"

Christy sat up as Rhett rushed into the room, soon followed by Jessie. Rhett ran over to Link, and to Christy's horror, the two oldest kids had woken up and were standing in the doorway with curious faces. She turned her head to watch as Rhett threw himself on the floor beside Link, taking him by the shoulders and pinning him down so he wouldn't hurt himself. He was entirely caked in his sweat, his clothes clinging to his clammy body and his hair matted to a wad on his head.

He'd knocked his glasses off of the stand with his fist as he flailed from Rhett's grasp, and they hit him right on the bridge of his nose. His eyes flew open and he gasped for air, the scream coming to an abrupt stop. Link could see a blurry figure leaning over him and he could feel a set of hands holding him down firm but gentle, and he knew that it was Rhett. His chest heaved as he tried to comprehend what had just happened. Rhett released one of his shoulders to reach for his glasses and he placed them on his face. Link blinked several times, feeling his heart stutter in his chest.

He suddenly sat up in the spot, throwing his arms around Rhett and laying his head on his shoulder as he cried. Rhett's eyes widened and he sat there awkwardly for a few seconds before hesitantly bringing his hand up to pat Link consolingly on the back. Christy rose from her seat to meet Lily and Locke at the door, and she ushered them toward their rooms, telling them Link was just having a bad dream.

Jessie watched with a certain sadness in her eyes, realizing Link had a pretty traumatizing nightmare just now. Link's sobs filled the room as he gripped Rhett with everything that he had, as if his soul was being drained out of his body and that was the last time he was going to see him.

Rhett looked up to Jessie and she gave a slight shrug. She was just as clueless as he was. Rhett figured he was going to try to get the answer out of Link and he waited for a few seconds for the sobs to dwindle to helpless sniffles. "What's up, buddy? Bad dream?"

Link only nodded his head, staring off into space. It was a series of bad dreams, and he had no clue how to describe it. Even if he wanted to describe it, he didn't know where to start. How did you go about describing something like that, when you've never experienced it before a day in your life? He was terrified.

The past few dreams he's had have come true, and if these dreams came true, he knew well enough in his heart that it didn't bode well for anybody. He adjusted his glasses on his face and pulled away from Rhett, wrapping his arms around himself as he rocked himself back and forth. Rhett narrowed his eyes at him in concern.

Link had looked worse than he had before he went to bed. Not only was he really pale, but the underneath of his eyes were darkened considerably. His eyes seemed to be so distant, as if his soul had checked out the moment they set him to bed. Rhett took a deep breath, fearing the worst. If Link had a bad dream, and he was increasingly becoming notorious for his dreams coming true, what did this mean?

He just had to find out what that dream was. He placed a reassuring hand on Link's shoulder as Christy reentered the room. She resumed her spot on the floor beside Link and took his hand into hers. She almost recoiled at how cold they felt in her own, her eyebrow twitching just slightly.

"What happened, man? You can tell us," Rhett spoke softly, craning his neck so that he could look Link in the eyes. Link swallowed but he didn't make an attempt to answer. "Link. Please tell us. If this is another premonition of yours, we've got to know," Rhett said with impatience in his tone.

Christy and Jessie both gave Rhett an odd look and he kicked himself internally. These two had no idea that Link was having premonitions. They had no idea about Link's gift at all, and now that he said something, he had to elaborate. He took a deep breath before beginning, almost fearing the expectant looks on their faces waiting for an explanation.
