Chapter 30: Best I Ever Had

Drake's arms where wrapped around Adriana as she watched him sleep. She wanted to take in every detail she could of his precious face. After they had  finished that first round they ended up doing a few more. It was like they couldn't get enough of each other. She was beyond exhausted but she was fighting the sleep that was trying to take over. She had to get out of there before Drake woke up because she didn't want to ruin the special night they had. She jus wanted to chalk it up as what it was, a one night stand. She didn't want the awkward conversation that she assumed would come in the morning if they woke up together after having had sex.

She carefully slipped out of his arms trying her best not to wake him. He moved a little bit when she slipped away from his grip but he didn't wake up. She tip toed around the room and gathered all her belongings then quickly went in to the bathroom to clean up and get dressed. After that she grabbed a note pad that was on the night stand and a pen and wrote him a note. She folded it in half and scribbled something on top and set it on the nightstand then she left the room.

When she made it inside the elevator she slipped on her heels. She didn't want to put them on prior to leaving the room because she didn't want to wake anyone with the loud sound of clicking heels. She smiled as she remembered her night with Aubrey. She could still smell his cologne on her clothes and that made her smile more. She thought that after it was all said and done she would regret spending the night with him like that but she didn't. "Best I Ever Had" she said out loud and laughed. When she had made that comment to OB the morning prior she was just being sarcastic but now that statement held so much truth. Her body still tingled in the areas Drake had touched. The man had to be a living sex God, there was no other explanation.

The elevator door sounded letting her know she reached the lobby and took her out of her thoughts. As she was stepping out Chubbs was stepping in. "Busted" she thought to herself. "Hey!" was what she said out loud to him.

"Hey." He looked at his watch. "Where are you off to at this hour?"

"Back to the hotel. I have to pack and make sure Tori packs. We have an early flight and I don't want to miss it." She felt kind of awkward cause she was sure he knew what she and Aubrey had done.

Chubbs stepped back out of the elevator. "Come on, I'll take you. I can't let you leave by yourself dressed like that and looking how you look. It's crazy out there and Aubs would be pissed if he found out I let you leave alone. Not to mention Tori."

"How do you know that he isn't aware that I'm leaving?" she asked him with a raised eyebrow.

"Seriously? Aubs is my brother, I know him. If he knew you were leaving right now he would be the one taking you." Chubbs said walking towards the exit.

She watched him walk away and quickly followed. "It really isn't necessary for you to take me. I'm a big girl."

"Like I said, if Aubs found out I let you leave alone looking how you look he would be pissed. I wasn't asking you really. I'm taking you to the hotel." Chubbs said firmly.

"Are you always this bossy?" She asked following him.

"Yes." He said cracking a smile. "Look, I'm just looking out for you okay. I like you."

Adriana nodded her head. "I know. I appreciate it. I'm just being difficult. Isn't that what women do?"

Chubbs looked over at her this time and smiled again. "Yeah, it is."

She smiled back at him. "Thank you. I really appreciate it."

Chubbs led her to the car and helped her in and then hopped in the drivers seat. The drive to the hotel wasn't far but she was sure it was going to seem eternal. The awkward silence between them was almost unbearable but she really didn't know what to say. "You don't need to feel so uncomfortable around me you know." Chubbs broke the silence.
