When Adriana and Drake picked the kids up they decided it was best for him to stay in the car so there wouldn't be a commotion. As soon as Adriana told them he was in the car they took off running and she couldn't help but laugh. When she got there they were both in there seats buckled in telling him about their day.
"Thanks for waiting for me." She told them when she got in.
"Sorry Mommy, I wanted to give Aubrey a hug." Selena said.
"And I wanted to tell him about my one on one basketball game at lunch. I beat a fifth grader." Santana told her proudly.
"Wow I'm so proud of you honey." She told Santana. She looked at Selena. "Mommy didn't even get a hug."
Selena giggled. "Sorry Mommy."
Adriana looked at Drake. "See what you do. You get the hugs and the big basketball news before me. I guess this is my life now." She joked.
Drake laughed and Santana and Selena laughed too because they knew she was joking. "It's all love baby girl. They just missed me. They love you more, you're Mommy."
"Yes and no one can ever replace a Mommy." Santana said.
"Never ever." Selena said.
"I know. I was only joking." She turned and looked at her kids. "And no one can ever replace either of you. You're both special in your own ways because there is only one you. Don't ever forget that."
"I know." They both said in unison.
Drake knew what she was doing. She was preparing them for when they told them there was another baby on the way. She didn't want them to feel like they would be replaced. "Thats right. No one can ever be you. You are both unique and your Mommy and I love you both very much."
"We love you too." They said in unison once again and that made both Drake and Adriana laugh. Their closeness and age and things like this were reasons why people always asked if they were twins.
Once they arrived home Drake signed up to help them with homework while Adriana busied herself making dinner. Helping them turned out to be a breeze. They were both so smart and barley needed his help at all. Once they'd put all their things up they'd dragged him into the back yard so they could shoot around on the basketball rim Adriana had bought them. As he played with them and looked around he couldn't help but feel a little bit of regret. Adriana wasn't supposed to find a home without him. They were supposed to find one together. It was a beautiful home, she'd done really well. But he couldn't help but feel a ways about it. If he hadn't been so dumb he could be standing in a home that belonged to the both of him right now, Adriana would already be wearing a diamond ring on her finger and they would be planning the wedding already too. Everything for a reason though. He was here with her and with the two beautiful children he'd fallen in love with and they were about to add to the little family.
"Aubrey are you okay?" Selena asked tugging on his shirt.
He hadn't even realized he had spaced out. He looked down at her and smiled. "Yeah little mama, I'm great. I'm happy because I'm here with you two and your mommy." He took her hand and led her over to the patio table Adriana had set up out there and they took a seat. Santana was still shooting around so he called him over too. Once they were all seated he looked at them and smiled. "There's something I want to ask you two. We were supposed to do it over dinner but I don't want to wait anymore. Don't worry, we will still do dinner together as promised though. We might just be adding someone else to that dinner plan." Santana and Selena's smiles widened but they didn't say anything. They were waiting for him to continue. "I want you two to know that I love you and your mommy very much. Before I met your mom and you guys my life wasn't missing something. Do you know what that was?"
