Sitting in the corner of the local Cold Stone Creamery Adriana and Klay were enjoying their ice creams and cracking jokes. She was honestly surprised that no one other then the young boy who made their ice cream had spotted him but she didn't want to say anything about it. With her luck, the second it left her mouth that she was surprised, people would start coming over to talk to him. Maybe they did notice him but decided to give him some space, which was very decent of them. Maybe they just didn't notice because most people were just in and out and weren't really paying attention to their surroundings. Their faces were mostly in their phones. Klay has also made sure he sag facing the wall so people didn't see his face when they walked in.
"This has been a surprisingly quiet outing." Klay said as if he had just been reading her mind or something.
"I was literally just thinking that." She told him with a smile. "Are you a mind reader Thompson?"
Klay chuckled. "No. That would definitely come in handy right now."
She tilted her head to the side to study him. "Why is that?"
"At the risk of sounding cheesy, I could figure out what it is that made you lose that twinkle in your eyes and try to make it better."
She smiled showcasing her dimples. "That's very sweet Klay. A tiny bit cheesy but sweet non the less. For the record, you're definitely helping make it better. So thank you for that."
Klay smiled at her. "I'm happy to hear that."
She could see he was still curious of what was bothering her but she didn't want to reveal too much about what had happened between her and Drake. "I just thought I had something figured out but apparently some things just aren't meant to be."
Klay nodded. "I see." He figured she was talking about Drake but he wasn't about to ask. If she wanted to tell him, she would. He really just wanted to make her smile.
"It is what it is." She shrugged her shoulders. "Everything for a reason. I'm good Klay. Don't worry about me."
Klay smiled and nodded again. "I know. It didn't take me long now to figure out that you're both very strong and independent. Whatever it is, you'll get through it."
"Thank you Klay." Her phone and Klay's started ringing at the exact same time. Hers displayed Tori's name and his displayed Draymond's. Neither of them wanted to be interrupted so they both silenced their ringers. Adriana knew that if it was an emergency Tori would call back. She didn't. Klay however wasn't so lucky. Draymond called back a second time and then a third time. "Maybe you should get that. It could be important."
Klay sighed but nodded and answered the phone. "What's up Dray?"
"MAN YOUR LIGHT SKINNED ASS REALLY DISSED ME TO HANG OUT WITH A FEMALE?! THAT'S WHAT'S UP KLAY? BROS BEFORE HOES MAN! BROS BEFORE HOES!" Draymond's loud ass voice came through the phone.
Klay looked at Adriana wide eyed and she looked back at him with raised eyebrows. "Draymond shut the fuck up man! I know your mom didn't raise you to be that damn disrespectful."
"Klay, have you met my momma? You acting real light skinned right now man! Who you with though? I didn't even bother looking. Who's the flavor of the day?"
Klay rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Dray I'm hanging up on you."
"I'm just gonna keep calling back until you tell me what I wanna hear!"
"Damn Dray! I'm with Adriana okay? Are you happy now?"
"OH SHIIIIT! My fault man. WAIT!! I thought she and Drizzy were back together?"
