Chapter 45: Results

Adriana finished up her photoshoot and headed to pick Chris up. When she arrived he was already outside waiting for her. He hoped in her car and reached over to hug her. "Where we going?" He wanted to know what this was about but he knew she wouldn't want to talk about it until she wasn't driving and all her focus was on the conversation she wanted to have.

"Olive Garden. I've been craving their salad and I want pasta."

"Sounds good. How was your photoshoot?"

Adriana glanced over at him and smiled. "It was really good Chris. So much fun and the couple was absolutely adorable."

Chris smiled at her. "I'm glad it went so well. You always have this glow about you after you do a photoshoot."

"I really love it Chris. It makes me happy."

They arrived at the restaurant and ordered their drinks and their meals making small talk and eating salad until Chris made her get to the point. "Talk to me Dria. What's on your mind? What's bothering you?"

Adriana put her fork down and made direct eye contact with him and let out a deep sigh before she started talking. "Chris, I need to ask you something and I need you to be one hundred percent honest with me."

"Dria, this is me. I always keep it one hundred with you."

She bit her bottom lip nervously before she continued. "Chris, you don't like me right? Like romantically."

Chris furrowed his eyebrows. "No. Dria where is this coming from?"

She let out another sigh. "Tori thinks that you may have certain feelings for me but you won't tell me for fear of ruining our friendship."

Chris laughed. "Dria, why are you listening to Tori about this? Let me ask you something. Have I ever come on to you or given you the vibe that I had any intention with you other than being your friend?"

Adriana shook her head. "No, and I'm sorry for asking you it's just that I've had a lot on my mind lately. Then Tori dropped this bomb on me and I just didn't know what to think."

Chris reached his hands across the table and took hers in them. "Dria, I have so much love for you, I would literally do anything for you but because you're my best friend. We've been through so much together Dria and you've always been there for me. I can't not have love for you. That would be impossible because you're a very important person in my life. You're the only person I can trust with anything and I hope that's still true for you about me. Like I told you before, I'm not blind, I can see how beautiful you are and you have the personality to match that beauty there is no denying that. But I've never seen us like that."

Adriana smiled at him and let out a sigh of relief. "You have no idea the amount of weight you just lifted of my shoulders. Best friends forever?"

"I wouldn't have it any other way." Chris told her with a smile. "So what else is wrong?"

"Am I that easy to read?"

"Hello, we just discussed how you're my best friend and we've been through a lot together. I know when something is wrong Dria. What's up?"

"Promise you won't judge me for anything I'm about to tell you?"

"The fact that you have to ask offends me." He chucked so she would know he was joking. "Of course I won't judge you Dria, this is me you're talking to."
