Destiny suddenly paniced and reached out towards the screen in a pathetic attempt to stop Katy from leaving.
"No, Katy! Don't leave! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you!" She said in a rush, tears filling her eyes. Confusion washed over Katy's now tear streaked face.
"Hey, calm down Sweetie!" She said quickly. "I'm not going anywhere, I'm right here. And this is not your fault, okay?" Destiny looked away, refusing to make eye contact. "Look at me Destiny," she insisted. Destiny still wouldn't and let a few tears slip out. "This. Is. Not. Your. Fault. Okay?"
"Okay Katy," Destiny whispered softly. "Okay...." Katy smiled proudly at Destiny.
"Good girl," she said gently. "Oh, I hope you don't mind Demi giving me your Skype name."
"I don't," Destiny confirmed quickly. "Actually I didn't think I'd get to see you again..." Katy shook her head furiously.
"I would never let that happen Destiny," she promised. "Please can you promise me something though? Can you promise me that whenever something bad happens you will tell me straight away? Please?" Destiny hesitated and bit her lip nervously. Suddenly, there was a knocking sound coming from Katy's line. Sadness invaded all of Katy's features as she turned towards the direction of the knocking. She sighed quietly to herself.
"Sweetie, I-I have go g-g-get that..." She mumbled tearfully. "I'll speak to you soon, pinkie promise..." Destiny nodded, but studied Katy carefully.
"Is everything okay Katy? You're nearly crying," she pointed out. Katy nodded and blew Destiny a quick kiss.
"I'm fine," she promised and forced a reassuring smile. "Don't forget what I asked, okay? Bye-bye Destiny!" Destiny only just managed to nod and say goodbye before the line went dead.
Katy rushed to her front door and clasped the handle tightly, but couldn't bring herself to open it. She knew what was on the other side, and she knew who... She also knew that she needed to open that door. But that didn't mean she had to like it.
Meanwhile, Destiny was facing some horrors of her own.... Her inner demons were slowly beginning to venture to the surface and invade every little corner of her weak mind.
"She didn't wait for you to promise, or even say goodbye! She doesn't really care at all. Why should she? You're a nobody! You don't deserve Katy. You don't deserve anyone. Drop DEAD!" The voices cackled evily. Destiny doubled over let her head flop pathetically onto the bed, too weak to even hold herself up anymore. The voices were right. Katy didn't care. Nobody did! She began scrambling around for her blade, needing to stop the voices at least for a little while.
"Des?" A voice called out fearfully. "Des, it's Blaze. Can we come in? Please?" Destiny frowned at the fear in Blaze's voice and quickly composed herself before letting him in. Her sisters were quick to follow him.
"What's wrong? What happened?" She asked worriedly. Blaze began telling her what had happened while she had been Skyping Katy.
"Simon! You let that woman take Destiny! This is all your fault! She's my baby, not hers! MINE!" Carline yelled furiously. Blaze covered his ears and the girls copied him.
"Blaze, I was Dessy!" Sobbed Candy through tears. "Get Destiny PLEASE!" Shouting filled the house. scaring them all. It seemed like hours before it stopped. The second it did Blaze dragged his sisters inside towards Destiny's room. He was caught by his hair by his Farther though.
"Run," he whispered to the girls. "Go to my room!" They did as he asked.
"Stay away from Destiny Blaze," Simon growled. "She's being punished, got it?" Blaze nodded. Simon pushed him away and Blaze ran to find Candy and the twins. He soon did. They waited for a while until the coast was clear, before going to Destiny's room.
Destiny hugged them all tightly and then began blocked her bedroom door so nobody could get in.
"You're staying in here tonight," she told them. "You will be safe with me."
As her siblings slept Destiny realized something for the first time. She could never see Katy again. Her siblings needed her, and seeing Katy would only put them all in even more danger...
