Destiny and Miss Chelsea drove down to Destiny's house. Once they got there, Destiny just stared at the house. Not moving at all.
"You alright, petal?" Miss Chelsea asked gently. Destiny nodded, but couldn't tear her gaze away.
"It's just that there are so many memories there," Destiny explained.
"Good ones?" Miss Chelsea pushed, knowing that this might be her only chance to get Destiny to open up.
"No," Destiny answered. Her voice sounded resentful now, her expression turning to a glare. "I do like my parents, I really do. But I hate them too. They shouldn't be allowed to have kids..."
Miss Chelsea sat there uncomfortably, not knowing what to say. In the end she decided that just being there was enough, which it was.
"Alright then," she said after a little while. "Lets get on with the rescue mission, shall we?"
"Right," Destiny agreed. "But first there's something I need to do..." She then whipped out her phone and opened up Katy's contact.
"What are you doing? The sun will be up if we don't hurry!" Miss Chelsea said, giving Destiny's shoulder a gentle shake.
"Texting Katy. It's just something I need to do, okay? I promise this work take long," Destiny answered - her voice almost developing a begging tone to it.
"Of course, petal." Miss Chelsea said gently. Destiny shot her a small smile, then proceeded to text Katy.
Hi, Katy... Look, I'm sorry. Okay? I'm just really sorry. I promise you I wasn't just using you. There are other people I could have gone to - Miss Chelsea for example - but I wanted YOU. I don't understand why, but it's true. There are lots of emotions I can feel, and that I am not used to feeling. I don't know what this is, Katy, but I do know that it led me to you... I'm at my house with Miss, saving my siblings. I don't know why I'm telling you this really, it's just something I feel like I have to do... I'm saying this now because I might get caught, then who knows when I'll next have the chance to say anything to you. I hope I'll maybe see you soon? Please forgive me...
Destiny then pressed send, her fingers shaking. Had she really just opened up a little, to Katy? A woman she had promised to hate, a woman who was supposed to mean nothing to her? She had no idea how Katy would react.
"She probably won't even read it," thought Destiny. "She's probably deleted my number. She's probably getting ready to leave for Japan, that's where the rest of her tour will be."
"Earth to Destiny!" Miss Chelsea called, waving her hands infront of Destiny's face. "Lets go!"
Destiny nodded and got out of the car.
This was it.
The two of them jogged over to the house. Destiny tipped her head back and looked up at her bedroom window.
"That's where I-, I mean we, need to be." She said, her voice definit.
"Up there?" Miss Chelsea asked optimistically. "Are you kidding?" The look Destiny gave her was enough to tell Miss Chelsea that she was definitely not kidding.
"That's where I left them," Destiny said softly. "So lets go."
Destiny had always seemed like a weak person physically, due to her bone thin body and the fact that she was rather short for her age. Now however, Destiny was proving everyone wrong by scrambling up the drain pipe - using the vines of ivy as extra support.
"Do you expect me to follow?" Miss Chelsea hissed, trying not to awaken the inhabitants inside.
Destiny looked down and shrugged. Miss Chelsea was not a skinny person, although she was an avid basketball player. She wasn't obese by any means, but that was really besides the point.
"Keep watch," Destiny hissed back. Then she carried on climbing.
Soon she was at the window ledge, and faced with another problem. The window was locked! Destiny glanced down at Miss Chelsea for help.
"Do you know how to jimmy a lock?" She asked worriedly. Miss Chelsea shook her head, also looking nervous. Destiny looked down at her teacher, squinting in vein to see how she had done her hair.
Miss Chelsea had managed to amaze the class for half an hour by putting up her hair with a pencil or pen and nothing else. The class had been transfixed everytime she did her hair ever since - much to her annoyance.
The question was, what was her hair done up with now? A pencil or pen would be useless, but a hair grip would be perfect. Miss Chelsea often had a few stored somewhere in her hair.
Destiny's hair was down and she never used grips anyway. She called down to Miss Chelsea, asking for one. To Destiny's amusement, Miss Chelsea then began rummage in her hair to find one.
Just as Destiny was about to come down, Miss Chelsea stopped and pulled something out of her dyed hair. Success!
"Being it up, bring it up!" Destiny hurried urgently.
Miss Chelsea raised her eyebrows at Destiny, but began pulling herself up anyway - using the same way that Destiny had. She was soon high enough to pass Destiny the grip. Destiny quickly got to work.
She gave a cry of triumph when the lock clicked and was quick to climb though the window, pulling Miss Chelsea in after her.
Once she was in, she began scanning the room to see if they were there - she didn't have very high hopes, but it was worth a try. A muffled squeak of fear came from under the bed, then a flurry of urgent whispers. Destiny glanced at Miss Chelsea before ducking down to look under the bed.
There lay her sisters, bone thin and paler than paper. They were in the same clothes that they had been in when Destiny left, cuddled up in a bundle together, hiding their faces.
"Hey, little ones..." Destiny cooed softly. "Did you miss me?"
"DESSY!" They cried, all scrambling up at once. Destiny shushed them quickly - but not before pulling them into her arms - they still needed to be quiet.
"Where's Blaze?" Destiny asked worriedly, pulling them out from under the bed.
"Down sairs," London lisped - her thumb affecting her speech, as usual.
"Why now? It's almost three in the morning!" Miss Chelsea asked in astonishment.
"Mummy took him away," Candy whispered fearfully. "She caught him with the bread. It was for us..."
"Where to exactly, Candy!" Destiny insisted.
"I don't know, I don't know!" Candy cried, hiding her face. Destiny turned worriedly to Miss Chelsea, her face grave.
"We have to find him," she said. Nobody said anything - Miss Chelsea only giving a small, understanding nod - they knew that she was right.
