"I'm sorry, you what!?!" Cher practically screamed. "How could you not tell Katy this!?! She will be devastated! What was the point in even going over to her?" Destiny was now bent over double, clutching at her head.
"Baker?" Miss Chelsea said, her voice full of concern. "Baker, are you okay?" Destiny shook her head.
"I-I can't-... I mean-... I just-" She muttered, suddenly speaking more to herself. "I can't deal with this... I really n-need to use th-the bathroom," She stammered shakily. "Where is it?"
"Upstairs, on the left." Miss Chelsea instructed nervously. Destiny thanked her before fleeing the room, desperate to find the bathroom. She soon found one and locked herself in.
"You can't leave me," she whispered desperately. "I need you! I-I w-won't h-have anyone else..." Destiny knew Miss Chelsea couldn't hear her, but she also knew that there was no way she could ever say it to her teachers face.
Suddenly, her eyes fell upon something. A razor. She quickly grasped it and began to thrash herself. Somewhere in the background she could hear voices, but the razor was all consuming.
"DESTINY, LET ME IN!" Cher yelled, banging on the door. "SERIOUSLY GIRL, OPEN IT!" Miss Chelsea hovered close beside Cher, not fully understanding why Cher was so desperate to get in.
"She's just using the bathroom, what's the big deal?" She asked, a little anxious about the answer.
"Because Destiny's been known to be suicidal!" Cher cried, not managing to control her voice anymore. "We need to get Katy over here, and we need her here now!" She snatched her mobile from her pocket and quickly dialled Katys number.
"Hey, Cher!" Katy said, swiftly answering. She forced a lightness to her voice that wasn't really there.
"Katy, you need to come down here. Now," Cher cried.
"Why, what's happened?" Katy asked worriedly.
"It's Destiny. Look, I just really need you to get over here!" Cher begged, her fist turning white as she gripped the phone.
"Where are you?" Katy demanded, chewing her lip fearfully as Cher gave her the address. "Right, I'm on my way." She then sprinted to her hire car and began to drive, skipping more than one red light! Luckily, it didn't take her long to arrive at Miss Chelsea's house. Miss Chelsea let her in, trying not to act surprised at having a Popstar in her house.
"Thank God!" Cher breathed, clutching Katy's arm. "She's upstairs, in the bathroom. We can't get her out!" Katy didn't answer and ran to where Cher had pointed, knocking desperately on the bathroom door. She got a sense of deja vu, how many more times was this sort of thing going to happen?
"Destiny," she called out. Her voice cracked as she spoke, she was completely exhausted. "Baby, please... Just come out."
"No," Destiny replied. Her voice merely a muffled yell.
"PLEASE!" Katy suddenly screamed, even scaring herself now. "Why won't you just come out and talk to me? I'm trying, okay? I'm really trying! I don't know how to deal with this, I don't know how to be a Mum, I don't know what's best! It doesn't help when all you do is shut me out! You shut the God damn world out, Destiny! Just let me in, for once!"
"I can't," Destiny growled back. "Don't you understand? I CAN'T!"
"WELL WHY THE HELL NOT?" Katy demanded, losing it now. Then, for a moment, everything was silent. Destiny didn't answer, only letting out almost silent sobs.
"Because. You'll. Hate me," she said slowly.
"Maybe I won't, how do you know until you try?" Katy sighed, her voice dripping in defeat now. Then the lock clicked open and Destiny opened the door a crack, only just showing her face.
"Because I'm not coming back, Katy..." She whispered horsley. "I was going to tell you straight away, but everything happened so fast... I needed your help, but I never wanted to go to America to stay..." Katy froze, everything going painfully numb.
"Wh-what?" She stuttered, trying to clutch onto the door.
"I'm so, so sorry Katy..." Destiny whispered, reaching out her hand towards Katy's face. Katy pulled violently away. Pain filled Destiny's face at that and she went to shut the door again. As she did so, Miss Chelsea let out a cry.
"Her wrist! It's bleeding!" She cried in horror.
