Katy listened silently to Destiny's story. Tears fell down her cheeks as she thought about everything Destiny had been through. It wasn't fair...

A silence had seeped into the room now that Destiny had finished her story. There wasn't anything left to say. Suddenly the silence was shattered by the sound of somebody screaming.

"I WANT MY MUM!" A little voice screamed. "DESTINY, WHERE ARE YOU? I WANT MY MUM!"

"London," Destiny whispered. Her head snapped around. She got up to leave the room.

"Why do they want their mum?" Katy asked, confused.

"She's all they know," Destiny explained. "They think all mums are like ours, I used to as well. I learnt that I was wrong in high school. The twins are two, they still need their mum... I try, but I'm still no substitute."

"Dessy, London's crying lots!" Candy said, running into the room.

"I know, Candy. It's okay, I'm coming." Destiny replied. She left the room without giving Katy a second glance. Her siblings came first, of course.

"Alright, alright!" She called, walking over to London and scooping her up onto her hip. "That's enough, London." Candy clung to Destiny's free hand, shaking a little.

"Want Mummy," London whimpered.

"Mum's not here," Destiny stated. "Why don't we do something fun instead?"

"Like what?" Blaze asked eagerly.

"Park! Park! Park!" Squealed Ocean. "Our park!"

"Okay," Destiny chuckled. "Our park it is. Now get ready to leave!" The kids scrambled towards the door, pulling Destiny behind them. They were all in oversized T-shirts, except Destiny who had some clothes to wear.

"Hold it!" Katy cried, stopping them in their tracks. "What are you doing?"

"Going to our park," Blaze said. "Bye, Katy."

"You can't just go off like that, you have to ask first!" Katy cried. "And I mean ask an adult."

"But Dessy takes us, we never ask before." London protested.

"I'm nice, I just need to know you're okay before you go running off somewhere." Katy signed, trying to explain the rules.

"Katy, I can take care of them. I always have done," Destiny said stubbornly. "I don't actually need a Mu-... An adult." She added, stopping herself from saying mum.

"Sorry, Destiny, they're the rules. You don't have to be their mum anymore." Katy said gently. An awkward silence then fell.

"Alright, kiddies, let's go to the park!" Shannon cried suddenly, thankfully breaking the silence. The kids cheered and Shannon began guiding them out, including Destiny, leaving Katy and Angela alone.

"What now, Katy?" Angela asked softly. "Strictly speaking, those children were kidnapped..."

"I'm calling the police and reporting them as victims of abuse," Katy whispered. "What else can I do?"

"Destiny's going to kill you!" Angela warned, knowing that Katy was right. "You know that, right?"

"Yeah... I know," Katy whispered. Then she raised her eyes upwards and prayed, before reaching for her phone.

Shannon watched Destiny play with her siblings, seeming more like their mother than one of them. It was sad, yet humbling to watch really. They were all rather loud, seeming completely carefree with Destiny beside them.

"Dessy, Dessy, Dessy! Look at me!" Ocean squealed excitedly. She was clinging all over the wall of the climbing frame with London close behind her.

"Don't fall!" Destiny cried, panic seeping into her voice. She held her arms out to them and they quickly let go, falling into them.

"Dessy, I don't want to go high..." Candy whimpered nervously.

"That's okay, Candybear. You stay here with me," Destiny soothed kindly.

"I can climb too!" Blaze boasted. "Even higher than them! Even higher than everyone!"

"Prove it, prove it, prove it!" Taunted the twins.

"Don't you dare," Destiny shot at him. "You'll fall, silly boy!" Blaze blushed, holding onto Destiny's jumper meekly.

"Guys, come back!" Shannon called after a little while. "Katy wants you to come home now." The kids ran happily back, unaware of the problems that would soon greet them.

Shannon looked down at her phone, rereading Katy's text. There was a sad look in her eye.

Katy - bring them back now, the police are on their way. I had to inform them, Shan... I was the right thing to do, right? I'm just glad they had fun before all this kicks off...

"Idiot, Katy..." Shannon signed sadly. "Destiny's never going to forgive you. At least, not for a while." She quickly typed a response to Katy.

Shannon - On our way, I just hope you know what you're doing!

She knew that Katy was doing the right thing, but would Destiny see it that way?
