the next morning...

Betty wakes up yawning and looks over. Seeing the left side  of the bed empty. Sighing and picking up her phone to see one text  message. Opening it up and reading it.

sorry I won't be there when u wake up Bets I had 2 go 2 work but I luv u and never forget that cause what  we share is unbreakable  -love Jughead

Betty smiles but sighs sadly getting up to look for her clothes to get dressed. then fixes her pony tail and heads out back to her house.

Alice:Elisabeth Where Have You Been?!

Betty:Out

Alice:Out where?

Betty:Veronica's

Alice: you're sure spending alot of time with the lodges Betty,is there something you wanna tell me?

Betty:no

Betty walks off and goes upstairs to her room but decides to stop by Polly's room

Betty:Polly?

Betty knocks

Polly: come in Betty

Betty opens the door

Betty:hey

Polly:hey Betty

Betty:can I talk to you? I could really use some advice

Polly:of course Betty your my sister and children's god mother

Betty:when Jason was alive and he had to do things that took numerous hours how did you cope with it?

polly:well I was a cheerleader and he was a football player so I always got to be with him but when we couldn't be together I found other things to keep me busy while Jason was busy

Betty: I'm having the problem with Jughead, he's taken on some work with the serpents and I barley see him

Polly:when did you last see him?

Betty: last night but when I woke up he was gone for work again

Polly: you should find something to fullfill the emptiness Jughead isn't filling as much

Betty:it's so hard cause we used to go to the same school and write for the blue and  gold newspaper  as well as solve Jason Blossom's murder together and now we don't do any of that    

Polly: I'm sorry Betty but maybe you should just try to move on for now and wait to see what happens in the near future

Betty: I still wanna be with Jughead but I don't know what to do without him most of the time

Polly:well if you need  something to do I still need help with assembling the twins swings and the changing table

Betty: I got nothing better to do so why not

Polly: there in the closet I'll get it

Betty:no polly let me, you shouldn't be lifting things right now

Betty goes over to the closet grabbing the boxes and setting them down

Betty:alright let's get cracking 

Then Archie knocks on the door...

Archie:hey sorry to interrupt but your mom said you were here and the door was open

Betty:it's okay Archie, so what's up?

Archie:well Veroncia has some family she has to attend with her parents so now I don't have anyone to hang with, so... I was wondering if I could hang with you

Betty:okay but you'll have to help build baby furniture

Archie:I've built a table so I think I can handle baby furniture

Betty:it's just some swings and a changing table

Archie:it's better then watching a movie

Betty: still struggling with your dad?

Archie:yeah it's tough and I can't even think about my music so maybe building something will help

Betty:well considering half of these instructions aren't English we  need you

Archie,Betty, and Polly spend the next few hours assembling crib furniture

Polly:that took longer then I thought

Betty:Polly you look exhausted ,you should go and rest

Polly:you sure?

Betty:yeah

Polly :thanks Betty

Polly walks out

Betty:thanks for the help Archie, i know this wasn't the most fun thing to do today

Archie:your welcome and actually it wasn't that bad and I was able to get my mind off things for a bit

Betty:how is your dad doing?

Archie:he's getting there but he's still weak and is asleep every time I'm with him

Betty:I'm sorry Archie

Archie: and the police still don't know who shot him

Betty: well have you started doing your own investigation?

Archie:Betty I'm not a super sleuth like you or Jughead okay so I can't go investigate it and I have no facts or anytning to off of

Betty: well if you decide you want to go investigating , I'll be your partner since my old one is never around

Archie: how did things go for you and Jughead go last night?

Betty: we had a long conversation on the walk home ,mainly me letting  my concerns off of my chest and then had a nice evening together alone

Archie: Has he decided how long he's gonna be a serpent?

Betty: maybe forever, cause Jughead is staying with them and loves being one of them  and he can't choose me or them so he's doing both

Archie: long term he's not gonna be able to have both

Betty:Jughead loves me and he only ignored me to protect me from the serpents

Archie: I care about you and Jughead but I can already see what's happening , Jughead is gonna get so wrapped up in the gang and not have time for you and you'll be all sad and I don't wanna see you so sad

Betty: it's hard but I refuse to believe that Jughead would let that happen, I mean he says he thinks about me all the time

Archie: you should do whatever you wanna do Betty but maybe you should just evulate your situation and think it  through before you end up getting hurt

Betty: Polly says I should find something to keep myself busy while Jughead is doing his thing but i don't know how

Archie:what about the school newspaper? you lovr writing that

Betty:I did, but Jughead isn't there to write it with me no more just like everything else and as much as he says he loves me and everything I still have doubts and I'm s-scared Archie

Betty starts crying and Archie pulls her in for a best friend hug and embrace

Archie:Veroncia and I will always be here for you Betty
