Dark Paths (Bughead)

chapter 9

Betty POV: It had been three days since me and Jughead broke up. I spent most of my time alone while feeling a little depressed. I missed Jughead but I couldn't take it anymore. The constant feeling of him leaving me behind was too much to handle.

I was alone in my room crying. I was sitting in the window sill. My knees were pulled up to my chest and I was hugging my legs while hiding my face. I missed Jughead so much but Archie was right. Eventually Jughead would have to pick between me and the serpents. I guess he chose the serpents, at least that's what if felt like.

Veroncia texts Betty:where r u B?

Betty looked over at her desk where her phone was. She slowly walked over to it seeing a text from Veronica. She picked her phone up and replied

Betty: I'm at home

Veroncia:again? is this because of Jughead?

Betty sighed she was to stubborn to tell her the truth. She replied:

Betty: No it's not

Veronica:then what is it?

Betty: I'm not feeling well

Lies she was feeling fine. All she felt was a broken heart.

Veronica: Betty....

Betty:what?

Veronica: you know you can tell me anything cause I'm your best friend

Betty sighed as she thought of Jughead and started to cry again

Betty: I'm trying not to think about him but I can't. I feel so alone right now

Veronica: i knew this was about Jughead! do u want me 2 come over? i haven't seen u at school or anything and I'm worried about u Betty

Betty:sure V

Veronica:and I'm bringing you a scone and coffee as well

She read the text and smiled.

Betty: Thanks V I appreciate it

Veronica: anytime B

Betty went to the bathroom to wash her face before Veronica got to her house

30 minutes later...

Veronica knocks

Veronica:Betty?

Betty opened the door and tightly hugged her friend.

Veronica comforts Betty

Betty pulled away.

Betty: I'm sorry I've been avoiding you guys. It's j....just so hard without h...him..

Betty did her best to hold her tears in.

Veroncia:I understand and you know what it's his loss for giving up someone so great as you

Betty slightly smiled.

Veronica:and I would be more then happy to hurt him for you if you want me to

Betty wasn't sure if that was a joke or if she was serious

Betty: Veronica it's not that bad

Veronica: you're in pink fluffy PJs, your hair is a mess and not in a pony tail, and your eyes are bloodshot. This isn't nothing Betty

Betty looked down, Veronica was right she was a train wreck. She dint know how to reply to that.

Veronica: come on you can eat your scone and drink your coffee that I brought you while you let it all out
