Chapter 42

BettyPOV: I woke up hearing voices and beeping sounds slowly opening my eyes to a bleached smelled environment. My head ached and my body felt weak like I couldn't move my body at all . I looked down seeing an Iv attached to me  and knew I must've been in the hospital but how? My mind grew fuzzy not remembering anything from before. I didn't even know the time of day or if it was night. My arm felt cold and my head just intensified by the second ? I closed my eyes again trying to get the pain subside till I heard someone walk in. I opened my eyes seeing my mom.

Alice: hey how you feeling?

My mom said walking over to me I tried to respond but my throat was dry causing me to cough and my mom handed me some water. I gladly took it smiling slightly gulping it down and cleared my throat.

Alice: Better?

I nodded

Betty: much but w-what happened?

Alice: well we were in some warehouse or old barn where Toni had Jughead held captive but she went after me till the cops showed up then she went after you again

Betty: Am I in a hospital?

Alice nods

Alice: you passed out in the place and luckily the paramedics came quickly as Sheriff Keller called and brought you here

Betty: am I okay?

Alice: yes you just needed rest and to take it easy your body was sleep deprived and lacking energy it needed and especially with all that stress it wasn't good for you

Betty: is Scarlett okay?

Alice: yes but you need to take better care of yourself so she can remain that way cause you were risking her being

Betty: I'm sorry

I said bursting into tears knowing I'd fail again

Alice: hey, it's okay Betty don't beat yourself up you just need to relax

Betty: I always end up hurting her and it'll be my fault if I loose her

I cried as my mom hugged me

Alice: she's gonna be okay Betty you just gotta take better care of yourself

I nodded as tears fell down my face

Betty: Did they find Jughead?

Alice: I'm not sure but I can find out for you

Betty: thank you mom

Alice: of course

Betty: what time is it?

Alice: 6 pm you slept the rest of yesterday after you passed out and now most of today

Betty: I feel groggy

Alice: that's normal

Betty: I feel like I need something

Alice: you haven't consumed anything in awhile so I'll go get the nurse and then we'll see

My mom left to get the nurse and I laid a hand on my stomach trying to feel a sign of Scarlett to make sure she was okay. I felt around and felt a little boom then a thump pounding. Figuring out I had found her heart beat and sighed of relief. Soon my mom walked back in with crackers and juice.
