Chapter 18‡ Eury vs. Clyde

I looked at the bottomless pit that is its eyes. As I walked closer to it, the shadow mirrors my stature. Huminga ako ng malalim at hinayaan ang paglapit ng shadow sakin.

I'm not someone to get impatient easily and rush things almost recklessly. Natalo nila ang mga shadows ng mas mabilis dahil sa nagpakita sila ng isang bagay na wala sila dati. But, that was all Meister's doing. I know the mirror ability isn't something vulnerable to that kind of attacks. At considering Meister Rav, hindi niya gagawin samin ni Clyde ang test na ginawa niya sa kanila.

The Death Forest we encountered is like his rite of passage to the both of us. That's why he ranked us the very first time he met us. He's expecting results from us. Though I hate expectations dahil simula bata lang ako 'yan na lagi ang mga nakapalibot sakin sa Council House.

Naglakad ako papalapit sa shadow at ganun din ang ginagawa nito. Lumamig bigla ang temperature sa loob ng gym dahil sakin. I kept weaving magic and using my ability simultaneously.

Unlike before, hindi na ako madaling mapagod sa paggamit bg ability ko. I looked back at them and I met his gaze. They waved their hands at me and cheered me loudly, pero walang nagreregister sa utak ko na boses. It seemed as if I couldn't hear anything.

"It's your turn, Enrys." I looked straight at Clyde's eyes.

"I just finished." He said and teleported in front of me. I wanna wipe that smug face of his. As a Kentra, I have to fight him to settle our levels. Alam ko na naman na mas malakas talaga siya sakin, but I can't accept him as a Captain kung hindi ako matatalo sa kanya ngayon.

"Papaliwanag ko kung pano natalo ni Enrys-" Pinutol ko ang sasabihin ni Meister at tumingin sa mga nagtatakang mukha nila, well, except Ziel. He looks like he understood everything.

"It's alright, Meister."

"I used my ability on him." Clyde explained nonchalantly at them.

"My request, Meister." I said seriously. Mukhang narealize din nila na seryoso ako sa laban na 'to dahip tahimik lang silang nanonood sa gilid.

Nakatingin lang sakin si Clyde. Hanggang ngayon, I have no way of knowing what that expression really means. He smiled bemusedly at me, but as he blinked once, nag-iba na ang expression niya. That expression, yung laging kong tinatawag na 'captain mode'.

"Gaya ng sinabi ko kanina, parehas kayong may request sakin. Kailangan muna pumayag ni Clyde." Sabi ni Meister na biglang nag-appear sa gitna naming dalawa.

"Let's settle who's the Captain in this battle." He wagered and smirked conceitedly. I bet he doesn't doubt his ability to win, not a bit. I nodded at him and glanced at Meister.

"Pumayag si Clyde. I have no choice. I'll be the referee for this match. I'll lay down one rule, whoever gets the other's necklace looses." I looked at Meister quizically. Nasagot naman ang tanong ko ng may nag-appear na silver necklace sa leeg ko.

"Mabilis 'yan mahila, hindi sila masasakal." Pagpapaliwanag niya saming dalawa.

"Okay. Simulan niyo na." He said and he teleported beside Hana and the others.

We both nodded our heads at each other and in a blink of an eye parehas kaming sumugod sa isa't isa. I couldn't help but smile. Clyde is really taking me on seriously.

"You sure you have the time to feel great?" He smirked and attacked me. I escaped his hold on my arm and did a double kick on his face. He defended with both his arms and jumped back.

I waved my hand and a trail of frost lingered in the air. He remined unfazed and stood there meekly. He won't be like that for long,

"This will be over if you don't fight back." I grunted as I teleported in front of him and tried to frost him by holding onto him. He used his ability on me and chanted magic and a fire attacked me and blew me half a meter away from him. I groaned in annoyance.
