Elena’s POV

” Okay so today every group is going to perform their duet and before you start to sing you’re going to tell us why you have picked that song and after the performance we in the audience will say a good thing or a bad thing about it. Is everybody okay with that?” Ms Granger said.

” Yeah” everybody said. I got a bit nervous when she said that everyone is going to say what they thought about the performance. I really don’t like to say something bad about to someone and when I’m going to say something nice I always say ”You had good eye contact with the audience”.

” Okay then Elena and Sarah do you two want to start?” Ms Granger said. Me and Sarah have been up all night practicing on our duet we have only been sleeping for 4 hours but hopefully we don’t look as tired as we are. We walked up onto the stage and gave each other a good luck nod.

” So which song are you two going to sing for us?” Ms Granger asked.

” Brave by Sara Bareilles” I said.

” Oh interesting, the original is not a duet so it’s going to be interesting to hear your version of it as a duet” She said. ” Why did you choose this song”? She asked.

” Well we both think that we need to be more brave and say what we want and not just keep it for ourself” Sarah said and I must say that she explain it very well I would have never come up with that explanation.

” Okay we’ll the floor is yours” Ms granger said and the band started to play.

You can be amazing

You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug

You can be the outcast

Or be the backlash of somebody’s lack of love

Or you can start speaking up

Nothing’s gonna hurt you the way that words do

When they settle ‘neath your skin

Kept on the inside and no sunlight

Sometimes a shadow wins

But I wonder what would happen if you

Say what you wanna say

And let the words fall out

Honestly I wanna see you be brave

With what you want to say

And let the words fall out

Honestly I wanna see you be brave

I wanna see you be brave

I wanna see you be brave

Everybody’s been there,

Everybody’s been stared down by the enemy

Fallen for the fear

And done some disappearing,

Bow down to the mighty

Don’t run, just stop holding your tongue

Maybe there’s a way out of the cage where you live

Maybe one of these days you can let the light in

Show me how big your brave is

Say what you wanna say

And let the words fall out
