As I head into Gillette Stadium, the teams warm-up and I pull Travis and Alex to the press room. I sit in the back of the room waiting for the quarterback and tight end to talk. An hour later, the teams hit the field! Travis and Alex look happy! The game ends and my work is done. A couple of hours later, I get a call from Nicole saying that Larry's dog got hit by a car and died! I usher both teams in the press room to deliver the news. Danny hits the play arrow on his phone and a song plays.
A hand above the water
An angel reaching for the sky
Is it raining in Heaven -
Do you want us to cry?
And everywhere the broken-hearted
On every lonely avenue
No-one could reach them
No-one but you
One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
And life goes on -
Without you...
The team heads to the locker rooms sad and the song continues.
Another Tricky Situation
I get to drownin' in the Blues
And I find myself thinkin'
Well - what would you do?
Yea! - it was such an operation
Forever paying every due
Hell, you made a sensation
You found a way through - and
One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
We'll remember -
Forever...
The teams leave the locker rooms and the song finishes.
And now the party must be over
I guess we'll never understand
The sense of your leaving
Was it the way it was planned?
And so we grace another table
And raise our glasses one more time
There's a face at the window
And I ain't never, never sayin' goodbye...
One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
Cryin' for nothing
Cryin' for no-one
No-one but you
The teams head to Boston Logan International Airport for a couple of flights The flight from Boston to Los Angles gets called first. The Patriots get on the plane. An hour later, the flight from Boston to Denver gets called. The team heads on the flight and I wish the team well. I head to TD Garden for a basketball game.
