A week later, i'm in the ESPN studios looking online for injuries to add to my sports blog I run in my spare time. I look at all the major pro sports leagues and I noticed one for each league. I'm writing my post when an alert sounds on my computer. I pull up Skype to see Alex Smith, the Quarterback of the Kanas City Chiefs calling me. I accept the call and he hits me with some news about the Chiefs games for the season. I pull up the games on the season and I notice that aren't any games in Los Angles. After Alex and I hang up, I start to cry. As Sports Center Coast to Coast almost starts, Scott Van Pelt walks by and I dry my tears. I have an interview with a mystery person. I'm getting my hair and makeup done when the mystery person walks the halls. I'm interviewing Jared Goff, the quarterback for the Los Angles Rams. An hour later, the interview starts and i'm trying to remain upbeat. The show cuts to commercials and Jared leaves the studio. It's almost time to get back on the air and i'm heading back to my office. A group chat with Larry and Nicole starts.
Group Chat:
You guys, I just looked at the Chiefs season and none of the away games have the team stopping in LA!
Aw! You'll be without Travis! :(
That stinks! I'll be in LA week twelve.
At least you and Nicole will see each other in season!
When is the bye week for the Chiefs?
I'll look and see. Week four! :o That's early!
Ikr! The Bucs have a week 13 bye
Lucky! :p
I have an event coming up the week Kanas City is on the bye If you want to come, you're invited.
Thanks <3
No problem.
After the group chat ends, I leave the studio and i'm heading to lunch. I'm at a coffee shop in the area when I see a lot of football fans inside. I order my coffee and I find a booth at the far side of the shop. I hear the bell ring and I see Patriots wide receiver, Julian Edelman walking in with backup quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo. I'm so nervous to talk to the players. I get my drink and sit back down in the booth. A few moments later, i'm back at the studio freaking out. Scott's radio show is going on ESPN Radio. I'm struggling to write the injury report for my blog because Travis entered my mind. An hour later, the sports reporters get the assignments they'll be working on for the week! My assignment is the Panthers home game. Scott tells me to enjoy North Carolina. I'm getting all my work done and I leave to head back to my space in Nicole and Larry's house.
