I sit in the press room of Ford Field nervous and shaky. I grab my phone and bolt out. An hour later, I sit in the stands breathing. Matt looks at me and calms me down. The team heads to airport to get on a flight to Kansas City. I decide not to go and stay in Detroit. The Penguins have a game. I'm sitting in my hotel room thinking about Rob and I text him.
Text Conversation:
Rob, I stayed in Detroit.
How come?
The Penguins are playing and I want to support them.
Travis just sent me a text message he needs you at Arrowhead.
Why?
Idk just get a flight from Detroit to Kansas City.
Rob, this won't be easy for me to be around Travis. I need to give him space.
He really misses you so much. I see the mess Travis is going through.
Really?
Yeah. Everything that's going on with Travis right now isn't that great.
What's going on with Travis?
He's living like Tony Stark.
Oh boy!
The conversation stops and I text Travis.
Text Conversation:
Travis, are you okay?
Not really. I got benched! I'm 😡 about that!
Rob told me you're living like Tony Stark.
It's a great thing though I have a great time!
I'm going to be at Arrowhead this week and I would want to have a conversation with you. You left me 💔. It's a funky situation we're in but the funky vibe of this is what I need. I care about you so much and I love you.
Get to Arrowhead and meet me in the press room.
I'm giving you some space and you're living it up like a character from a comic book!
Why is this so hard?
I just want you to know that I still care about Sidney. Just because we aren't a couple doesn't mean that we don't have a friendship. I have to go but you need to shape up and focus on football!
Bye.
I go to Little Caesars Arena and sit in the press room. It's quiet and I am nervous. An hour later, I get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich placed on my left. I look up to see Sidney sitting on my right. I smile and we go behind the glass. Sidney and I enjoy the sandwiches and conversation. The team sits on the bench and we all enjoy the conversation. A few moments later, the game starts and the teams take the ice. Twenty minutes later, it's intermission. I feel awful about this situation.
