The night after

Veronica's pov
After Archie leaves I sit up. I'm still in his shirt. I stick my nose in the collar of his shirt, it smell like him. I smile. My mom is still not awake from the jubilee last night. So I walk out into the kitchen in my underwear and Archie's shirt. I start to poor water out of the fridge. When I'm done I look to my side, I get startled by my mom. "Mom you scared me." I yell. "Who's shirt is that?" My mom asked while staring at me. "It may or may not be Archie's." I say. "Veronica!" She yells. "What!?" I yell back "I really like him mom, he's not just a boy I met. We were good friends first." I tell her. "Ok mi hija. Whatever you think is best." She says the kisses my head. I walk into my bedroom to start to get dressed, but first I sit on my bed on my phone. I hear my mom get a call. It was quick call.  I get up to start to get dressed when my mom come in my room. "I have to tell you something." She says worried. "What is it mom." I say getting worried. "I just got a call from Fred." She said. "Yeah?" I said. "Archie has gotten shot."  I drop my phone on ground. I crumbled to the floor crying. "No!" I cry repeatedly. My mom sits on the floor and hugs me. "It's ok mi hjia." She says stroking my hair. "No it's not ok. Why did have to happen to Archie, out of all people?" I say.  "I don't know, but if you would like we could go to the hospital." She tells me. "Absolutely, after I get ready." I tell her with tears running down my cheeks. She leaves me. If he would have just stayed in bed with me this morning this never would have happened. I get dressed and so my makeup, but I keep crying so I don't know who long the make up would last. I walk out into the living room. "Are you ready mi hjia?" She ask. "Yeah, lets go." I said. The whole ride do the hospital was silent and long. Once we got there I saw Fred in the waiting room.  Once I got in I walked up to him and gave him a hug. "How you holding up Veronica?" He asked me.  " I'm not at all really. How about you?" I ask Fred. "Um, I'm doing ok." He told me. "Why did you call me mom to tell me. Out of all people you could have called first." I question. "I knew you guys were a thing. I saw you two when you sang at the jubilee. And I figured when he didn't come home last night." He said with a a little smirk. I smiled at him. "I think you guys are a good team." Fred tells me. "Thank you, I like to believe we are." I tell him. We smile at each other.  A nurse comes up to Fred. "Your son is out of surgery if you would like to see him. The surgery went great. He should be awake in an hour. We both fast walked to his room. I walked in and I sat in the one the two chairs next to him. I pulled the chair closer to him. I got up a little and kissed Archie on the cheek. Then I held his hand. "Oh Archiekins what have you done now." I say with a tear running down my cheek. Then I kissed his hand I was holding. I laid my head on his bed. And I waited for Archie to wake up.

Harmonies pov
It's been a couple hours since I dropped of Veronica. So I drove back to the hospital to go check on her. I go to Archie's room where I see Fred standing in front of the door. "She hasn't left his side once, since he got out of surgery.  It's been two hours. "  he tell me. "We lodge woman know what we want, and once we get it we hold on to it. She really likes him." I tell him. "I can see a possible future between them." He says. I smile and nod because, I'm proud of my daughter.

Veronica's pov
After almost 3 hours of waiting I start to feel him move. I look up. "Archie?" I say.  He turns his head toward me. I smile when he looks at me. "Your awake." I said with a huge smile on my face. "How long was I out for?" He asks me. " 3 hours." I say. "Have you been here the whole time?" He asks. "I've been here longer. I was waiting in the waiting room for an hour. " I tell him. He smiles." You didn't need to do that Ronnie ." I tells me. "Well you slept with me last night, so I needed to do this." I said with a huge smile on my face. "Well I have nothing to say to that." He said to me.

Archie's pov
When I woke up Veronica was
Right next to me holding my hand. I'm not going to tell her this, but I love her. She waited 4 hours for me to wake up. I just love her. "Where's my dad?" I asked. "He went to go get some food and he should be back any minute. "Veronica says. "When are you going home for the the night?" I ask. " Trying to get rid of me already archiekins?" She ask. "No, you just look tired." I say. It had looked like she was crying. "Were you crying Ronnie?" I ask. "No." She says wiping under eyes and cheeks to make sure she didn't have any tears running down her face. "Hay come here." I tell her. She comes closer to me. I kiss her.  And then my dad comes in. "Oh hi dad." I say with my cheeks starting blush. Veronica sits back into the chair with her hand covering her face because she was embarrassed. I here Veronica's phone. "I gotta go my mom is waiting for me." She says. she kisses me on the cheek and says goodbye, and then leaves. "What were you doing there.?" My dad asks me. "Nothing, dad you had really bad timing." I tell him. "Why didn't you come home last night after the jubilee?" He asks me. "I was with Veronica." I tell. "All night!" He says. "Dad, seriously!" I say loudly.

Veronica's pov
When I get home it's late. I walk into my room and I remember everything that went down last night with me and Archie. He's my first relationship that wasn't based on just pure attraction. Don't get my wrong Archie is hot, but there's something else there. I see his shirt on my bed. I held it and smelled it. I love the smell of it. I get undressed and put his shirt on. I climbed into my bed and laid on my side. I started to think about Archie. So I texted him

V- hay, you awake?
A- Yeah, it's only 10:00pm
V- i know what time it is Archiekins
V- I just wanted to know how you were doing
A- I'm doing fine they're releasing me in a couple of days.
V- that's good.
V- I still have your shirt.
A- I know you were wear it when I woke up.
V- if you would have stayed longer you would have gotten your shirt back.
V- and you would've never gotten shot.
A- I know.
V- just next time don't sneak out.
A- your mom didn't hear us?
V- no, but she caught me in your shirt when I walked out to get water.
A- so both of our parents know.
V- yep
