sleeping arrangements

after a few moments rj noticed maine's arms loosen when he tried to look at her he realized she had fallen asleep. he wanted to gaze at her face but her head was nuzzled in the crook of his neck. call it instinct, he cooed her like a baby while he carefully manouvered her body so he can cradle her. he now felt her even breathing and realized how much he wanted to hold her like that and how much he missed having her in his life.

"pare sabi ko sayo hindi ka pa rin pinagkakaitan ng pagkakataon eh"

sshhh... wag ka nga baka magising yung baby ko

"asus!! yan tayo eh! pare lakas ng loob tawaging baby kasi tulog... pero alam mo tisoy kung kilala na natin si maine nung nasira ko yung ironman mo garantisado hindi nga aabutin ng dalawang linggo tampo mo"

"huy addie bakit ka ba umiiyak? nakasira ka rin ba ng ironman ni tisoy?"

"isay ano ka ba. can't you see? look at her, hanggang ngayon unconsciously alam ni meng kung saan sya nakakatulog.... remember nung lamay when her parents passed away? hindi sya nakakatulog, she can only sleep when she's cradled by rj...di ba?"

"o hon bakit umiiyak ka na rin? huy isay..."

"nung na-ospital ka rj, tapos nagbabantay sya, dyan lang din sya nakakatulog, di ba nag-request pa nga mommy mo ng high stool for meng para makasiksik sya sa leeg mo...."

"o ano pare, sa tingin mo ba pinagkakaitan ka pa ngbtadhana? sobra-sobra na yan sa quote unquote just a glimpse na hiniling mo... kingina pag di ka pa talaga kumilos hindi lang bigwas patatamain ko sayo"

oo na alam ko na. hindi mo na kailangang magbanta. pero guys, tonight baka pwede hindi ko muna bitawan to? promise hindi ako mangangalay at hindi sya mahuhulog

"you don't need to ask. besides baka magising pa yan kapag hiniga mo sa bed. kaya sige na. hon, lester pakiayos nyo yung lazy boy at least di masyado mahirapan si tisoy. sige na rj pahinga na tayo."

"payong kaibigan bu, mahal ko yung love story nyo kaya utang na loob wag mong sasaktan yung pusong fanboy ko"

"dude request lang tutal pinaiyak mo naman ang dakila mong kapitbahay, pag nagising yang baby mo.... siguraduhin mo lang, wala kaming WALA KAMING KINALAMAN. goodnight"

he thought of that. but when he has her sleeping peacefully in his arms... consequences be damned. he needed this. and this time with the words of his friends, he's ready to battle every fight just to have this moment for the rest of his life.

when they were settled in the lazy boy, lester helped him remove maine's shoes and draped a blanket on her after that he took rj's phone and typed in something, after he gave his phone back he whispered "alam ko gusto mo ng sagot sa ilang tanong mo, he's your best shot"

lester patted his shoulder but before he could turn his back, rj asked, how did you know?

"pare kaibigan kita at ganun din si maine. somewhat, i also wanted answers.... he was able to provide some... goodnight rj." and with that lester moved to check on addie whose sprawled on the bed and then he moved to the sofa across them.

he needed answers.... but first he needed to formulate the questions... although for now, he'll go ahead and savour her warmth, bask in her presence and cherish this chance. questions will come later.

for tonight, this will do.
