I was walking. It was night outside, and the stars above were twinkling brightly, but it didn't make me feel happy. There was a sort of eerie feeling around me as I made my way towards a forest. I looked behind me and realized I was walking further and further away from the castle. I tried to stop myself but couldn't. Before I even knew it, I was inside the forest, the tall trees blocking out the stars and my only light, leaving me in complete darkness. I continued to walk, until I heard a twig snap behind me. I stopped and spun around.
"Who's there?" I called out. No response. I heard footsteps slowly start to walk towards me, and reached for my wand. I didn't have my robes on, I was wearing the sweatpants I had gone to sleep in, but the pockets were empty. The footsteps were getting closer. "Who's there?" I demanded again, my heart rate picking up. I couldn't back away, my legs wouldn't allow it. "Get away from me before I curse you!" I warned, but I couldn't keep the nerves out of my voice. I didn't have my wand, but they didn't know that. Suddenly the footsteps stopped and I felt as if something were right in front of me. My eyes were wide as I slowly reached out a hand. My hand came in contact with something solid, but I couldn't see anything there.
Then my father appeared right in front of me, my hand on his chest. I squealed and stumbled back in shock, my feet tripping over something. I fell on my butt and stared up at the pale, bald-headed, nose-less man. My heart suddenly swelled and I jumped up with joy.
"Father!" I screamed excitedly, throwing my arms around him. He chuckled in response and squeezed me against him tightly. I was so happy I could've cried, but I wouldn't. Father said crying was a sign of weakness, and I was not weak. I pulled away but didn't take my arms off of him. "H-How-- how are---what?! How are you here? What did you do? Why didn't you tell me you got stronger! You have a body! When are we taking over the Wizarding World? Right now? I'll go get my things! Oh my God, this is amazing!"Before I could run back to the castle and grab all my things, my father grabbed onto my arm, stopping me. I looked back at him and the expression he had on his face made the happiness that was swelling in my chest pop like a balloon."What is it?" I asked.
He looked around the forest. "Dear, this is inside your head."
I felt like my heart stopped. My dreams crushed. My world exploded.
"What do you mean?" I asked. "Inside my head? How?"
"It's a dream," he explained. "Well, like a dream, but a real one. Since I can be inside your head, I figured I could enter your dreams and tell you things as close to face to face as we could get."
I stared at him, my mouth slightly open. "So, you don't really have your own body right now?" I asked slowly.
"Not yet," he said. He had a sad smile on his face. I nodded my head and cleared my throat, trying to hide the fact that I was majorly disappointed.
A moment of silence.
"So uh--inside my head, huh?" I asked after a while. "That's actually pretty cool."
He chuckled. "Yes it is, dear. Now, I came here for a reason; I need to explain something to you," he said. I nodded, urging him to continue. "You need to become friends with Harry Potter."
I froze and narrowed my eyes. "Ew, why?" I spat.
"So that he can trust you, and it'll be easier for you to get information from him, thus helping us to kill him. Make friends with all of his friends, too."
I stared off behind his shoulder thoughtfully. Becoming friends with the man who destroyed my father? "No thanks," I decided. My father narrowed his eyes.
