When I hopped out of bed, I wasn't excited because Draco and I were finally on good terms again and my eyes had returned to their normal brown, I was excited because I had a crate full of Dungbombs Daniels and I had created to torture the Beauxbatons girl that potioned Daniels. Dungbombs were our thing, really. I was also excited because it was the middle of the night, and who didn't like sneaking out in the middle of the night?
As quietly as I could, I slid my feet into some slippers before I poked my wand under my bed and cast a non-verbal levitating charm, allowing the crate to silently slide out from under my bed and hover in the air. With a smirk, I turned and crept out of the room with the Dungbombs following in suit.
When I got to the common room, Daniels was waiting patiently by the fireplace, leaning back against the wall. When he saw I had arrived, he pushed off and beckoned me to follow him eagerly. A crooked smirk spread across my face and I hurried after him as he held the door open for me.
"Your roommates didn't give you any trouble?" I asked as we trekked through the chilly dungeons.
"Oh, I could've set off all those Dungbombs and none of them would've heard a thing over Tom's snoring. Honestly, I'm surprised the bloke doesn't wake everyone in the corridor."
I laughed, the sound bouncing off the concrete walls of the silent dungeons. I snapped my mouth shut as a tingle of panic shot through me, making my eyes grow wide. I snapped my head toward Daniels, who was staring at me with the same frozen expression.
It was silent for a second as we stayed there, stupidly frozen. Then there was a creak, and both of us slowly turned behind us to see the door of Snape's office eerily opening...
"Run!" Daniels hissed, nudging me, and we sprinted away, not caring that the noise we were making as we ran would surely give us away.
"RIDDLE!" Snape bellowed.
The anger in his voice and the fact that if he caught us he'd stop us from getting our revenge pushed me to run faster, Daniels by my side and the crate of Dungbombs zooming right behind me.
When we finally made it out into the entrance hall, we stopped to catch our breath. "I'm...sorry..." I panted, clutching my chest.
"Don't worry, Riddle," Daniels said, straightening up and looking at me. "That made it all the more fun." He winked and I rolled my eyes, ushering him along to the castle exit. We only pushed the large doors open a crack, just enough to where we could slip through along with the crate, before dashing out toward the Beauxbatons carriages. What we were doing was risky, but whatever amount of trouble we would get in would be worth it if we got back at this girl.
"Better hurry before Snape finds out where we went," I whispered to Daniels. He nodded, grinning slyly, before he pressed his fingers to his lips, urging me to be quiet. I nodded and peeked up on my tiptoes to look inside one of the small windows of the carriage. It was obvious there was an enlargement charm on the inside, since I could see there were multiple rooms, one of the doors twice as large as the rest, which was probably Madam Maxime's.
"Alohomora," Daniels whispered, pointing his wand at the carriage door. When nothing happened, Daniels cursed lowly. My face fell; we were going to have to go back. How else could we get into this carriage? If only the stupid door would just open then we could—
The carriage door suddenly swung open with such force that it whacked Daniels in the stomach and sent him flying back into the grass. I gasped before giggling quietly. When Daniels got up, he was also laughing, brushing his hair away from his face. "Bloody hell..." he said, stumbling up to me. "What the hell was that?" He peeked in, and his eyebrows creased together before he shrugged, reaching back to grasp my arm. He urged me inside and I rolled my eyes.
