I had been laying in my bed in my empty room for about an hour when the door finally burst open. Three girls piled in, talking loudly. "There you are!" Airam exclaimed when she spotted me sprawled against my sheets, Night perched on my stomach. His talons were digging into my flesh, but I didn't really mind.

"Ew!" Pansy shrieked. "Get that disgusting animal out of here!"

Night opened his wings rapidly, about to fly off and attack her. Pansy screamed and I placed a hand on he back of my dear owl. "It's okay, she's irrelevant," I said, not even bothering to sit up, not like I could anyway. Pansy gasped but didn't say anything as Night closed his wings and moved to sit on top of my pillow instead. I sat up and grinned at Airam and Jalen. "Hey," I said.

"Don't just say hey!" Jalen snapped, her eyes bright. "Tell us everything!"

"Drakey's really mad at you," Pansy cut in from her bed. She was smirking happily. "I don't think he'll ever forgive you."

I rolled my eyes, not even bothering to look at her. "Draco and I made up, Puggie." She scoffed and stormed into the restroom as I explained everything that happened after Draco and I left the Great Hall to Airam and Jalen.

"Well, at least he had the decency to go after you," Jalen said.

"Decency?" I asked, and then scoffed. "I actually wish he hadn't. It made everything worse."

"Well, yeah, because of that fight you two had with the portraits, but if you hadn't then maybe you wouldn't have made up," Airam said, nodding her head as if her own response satisfied her.

"I suppose so."

Pansy came out of the bathroom and headed straight for her bed, snapping the drapes around herself. "Well, it's over with," I said finally, readjusting my legs so they were stretched out in front of me. Night had fallen asleep, still standing on my pillow, with his head under his wing. Airam and Jalen rose off of my bed and walked to their own.

"Well, I think we should go to sleep since we have classes tomorrow," Jalen said. We all agreed and I pointed my wand at the light switch. The lights clicked off, and in the dark, I poked Night. His head appeared from under his large, shiny black, wing and opened his eyes. The bright yellow of his eyes stuck out against the pitch black of the room. I held out my arm and he slowly settled on top of it. I got up from my bed and blindly made my way to the window. I opened it and held my arm out. Night opened his wings and sailed off. He flew upwards, to where I assumed the Owlery was, before I closed the window and went back to my bed.

When I entered the common room the next morning, the first things my eyes settled on were Draco and Pansy. Crabbe and Goyle were standing close by, snickering and shoving each other. Pansy was batting her eyelashes up at Draco and flirting as usual, while his eyes were glued to me.

"I don't understand what's with all the talk about Lockhart," Jalen said. "He's just a pretty boy with a white smile, like Malfoy."

"What was that, Erickson?" Draco asked as we approached them. Pansy glared at us. Jalen laughed.

"Just joking," she said, waving her hand. Draco smirked and then looped his arm through mine. We all began walking towards the exit of the common room.

"Pansy!" someone yelled. Millicent Bulstrode stood a few feet away with one other girl who looked bored out of her mind.

"Ha! Millicent and Tracey are calling me. See you around, losers," Pansy sang in my face. I rolled my eyes as she sauntered away towards the two girls.
