"Let me go!" I demanded, struggling to free myself from Airam and Jalen as they held me back from getting to the blonde prat. He was sitting on the other side of the Slytherin table, oblivious to my intentions as he talked rapidly to Blaise.

"Sierra, it's alright," Airam said in her best attempt at being calming, but her eyes were wide and frantic as the two of them hurled me back into my seat.

"He was getting all snug with me when I was under the influence of a charm—"

"I think you should be more worried about the look on your Gryffindor friends faces," Jalen said as her eyes darted to something behind me.

My head whipped around as I grabbed onto my goblet of pumpkin juice. Harry, Hermione, and Ron were making their way over to us, looking depressing. I took a sip of my drink as they approached.

"Sierra," Harry said. "You're coming to Buckbeak's appeal today, right?"

The liquid in my mouth spilled out as my mouth gaped open, causing Airam to squeal. Jalen flicked her wand and it was gone as my red eyes darted down to the open Daily Prophet on the table. The date read the sixth.

I looked back up at the trio in shock. "The sixth—today—Buckbeak—appeal—" I took deep breaths as Airam rubbed my back soothingly. "O-Of course I'll come, Harry," I finally spluttered out. My nerves had escalated so bad that my hands were beginning to shake. I still had more exams to do later in the day and this wasn't helping.

"Great." He bent down close to my ear and whispered, "Could you meet us in the common room right after your last exam?"

"The Gryffindor common room?" I clarified in a whisper. He nodded. "Alright then," I said and he pulled away from me. He gave Ron and Hermione a knowing look and they nodded at me, before walking back over to their table.

"What was all that secret whispering about?" Airam asked and Jalen leaned in to hear.

"Oh—nothing," I said with a coy smirk on my face.

"You're going to sneak away to that appeal aren't you?" Jalen asked with a sly smile.

"Maybe..."

"Oh that was murder!" I muttered to myself as I darted out of History of Magic. That's just what I needed; an exam to fry my brain before going to an appeal where one of my favorite animals might be getting killed. Might.

I practically ran down into the dungeons, muttering the password and shooting into the common room, accidentally bumping into a hard chest. "Ompf!" I groaned as I stumbled back.

"Woah better take it easy there huh, Riddle?" Daniels said, smirking down at me.

"Oh—Daniels! Sorry for running into you but I really need to go—" I tried to walk past him but he grabbed my arm.

"Hey—where're you going? Isn't it a bit late? You could miss curfew and we wouldn't want you getting any more detentions to add onto our months worth with Snape now would we?" He flashed a crooked grin.

"Maybe I'll be back before curfew if you let me go, hm?" I asked raising my eyebrows. His smirk widened before he released my arm.

"Hurry back, Riddle," he teased.

"Alright mum," I droned, rolling my eyes before racing up to the girls dormitories and heading straight into my room. I got the notes that Ron and I had collected and folded them up and shoved them in my robe pocket. None of my roommates were in here so—
