JAI’S POV

When we got home I went straight to my room, and I chucked the stuff onto the floor. I walked into the kitchen, I found Luke sitting at the table having a drink of water. ‘How is she?’ He inquired eagerly, I sighed.

‘She’s stuck in a chair Luke.’ I said taking a seat opposite him, ‘It’s going to take a month for her to be able to walk with a frame, they have no idea when she’ll be able to walk on her own, and she’ll be stuck in her back brace until April next year at the earliest.’ Luke frowned and patted me on the back.

‘If you ever need a hand, dealing with it all, let me know.’ He said, shooting me a sympathetic smile.

‘And you what?’ I asked shaking my head, ‘That’s not even the worst of it. The accident took away all of her independence, and it’s killing her.’ It annoyed me so much, the way she thought of herself now. ‘I’m going to drop some stuff off tomorrow morning before school, want to come?’

‘Yeah, that’d be awesome.’ I made myself some 2 minute noodles and went to bed, I didn’t feel like answering and questions, but I went on Tumblr, I owed it to our fans. I had been away for like three days.

I was actually so glad to answer the questions; a lot of them were asking how my girlfriend was. It was really nice to see so many fans caring for her. The same kind of thing happened on Twitter, it was awesome I loved to see that our fans cared for Jess. I posted on her wall, ‘Stay strong beautiful’ I knew that she was stressed and wanted everything to go back to normal, but it wasn’t going to happen for a while. I went to bed after replying to a few inboxes.

-The next day-

JAI’S POV

Luke and I left about half an hour earlier than usual, which would give us about 20 minutes to spend with Jess before we’d have to walk to school. I knocked on the door, ‘It’s open!’Jess yelled we walked in to see her sitting on the couch watching SpongeBob. ‘No way!’ Luke yelled running to sit on the couch. Jess smiled and laughed.

‘We bought food and movies,’ I said putting them down on the table. I walked over and stood in front of Jess, she held out her hand and I helped her up. I gave her a hug she was trying her best to stand on her own, but I could feel that she was still leaning on me a fair bit. Luke walked over; he grabbed her and gave her a big hug. ‘Thanks so much boys,’ she said leaning on his shoulder. ‘I really needed it.’ Luke helped Jess sit down again. ‘I’m going to go back to school on Monday,’ Jess announced, grabbing the packet of pods off the coffee table. Luke and I looked at each other before he replied, ‘That’s cool.’ We were both a little stressed out by this, but we’d make sure that James and Cassie looked out for her. ‘Isn’t it a little early for snakes?’ I asked as Jess started eating them.

‘No,’ she replied with a grin.

‘We’ll have to go in a couple of minutes,’ Luke said, checking the time on his phone.

‘Before you go, Jai could you?’ Jess asked, I could tell she was still disappointed that couldn’t get changed on her own. ‘Yeah, get everything out and I be there is a sec.’ I replied smiling.

‘What’s that about?’ Luke asked.

‘She can’t get changed on her own,’ I replied.

‘I see what you mean by the independence thing,’ Luke said.

‘Yeah,’ I said frowning, walking towards Jess’s bedroom. She had laid out a pair of trackies, a singlet and a hoodie. I took the neck and back brace off and helped her get changed. I daydreamed for a second or two, ‘Hurry babe,’ Jess said, looking at me, ‘it’s killing me.’ I nodded and strapped everything back on as fast and as gently as I could, she sighed of relief and smiled, ‘Thanks.’ I went to grab her neck brace but stopped me. ‘I can do it,’ she said doing up the Velcro at the back. She lowered herself into her chair and wheeled back into the living room. ‘Well we’ve got to go,’ I said picking my school bag up off the floor. Luke nodded and picked up his school bag too.

‘Thanks for coming; I’ll be watching those movies all day!’

‘I’ll see you afterschool,’ I said waving and walking out the front door. Luke and I headed off to school.

JESS’S POV

I spent the day watching movies and on my laptop. I went on Tumblr first, wow 6,000 followers, how the hell did that happen? I had received over 500 inboxes, that’s pretty cool I thought to myself, I used to sit at home and get zero inboxes. I looked at them, there was a fair bit of hate, but then there was all of these really nice messages, I couldn’t help but smile. I got cracking and answered nearly half of them, I replied to the hate messages like ‘slut’ with ‘what qualifies you to make this judgement?’ I thought I was pretty funny, and it turns out other people did too; I received 50+ likes on some of the replies. I loved reading all of the messaged that were nice, a lot of them were asking about my back; asking what was wrong, how I was doing and then there were just get better soon ones. I appreciated it all so much. I reblogged a few more pictures before logging onto twitter. My mentions had one absolutely mental. I replied tweeted and followed as many people as I could, I was feeling better already. On Facebook I had a crazy number of requests; I added most of the people. I made a status; it was going to be easier to do that to reply to everyone. ‘First session of Physical Therapy in a few hours, hope it all goes well.’ Heaps of girls and a few friends commented, I tried to reply with thanks to all of them.

I finished another movie; Jai would be here in about 15 minutes, so instead of starting another one I went back on Tumblr. Not just to answer questions, but to actually reblog some stuff. I just reblog anything that’s funny or cute or whatever. I saw a post, ’anyone hating on Jess needs to GTFO! She’s going through a lot, besides she’s beautiful and nice. Get over yourselves!’ My god, it was so cute. I reblogged it and added my own little comment. People genuinely cared.
