"i have to go to work today, but i will see you guys later. in the meantime, feel free to explore the place," i told my mother.

"don't worry, we'll be fine. have fun at work. i love you," my mother told me.

i stopped slowly in my tracks but didn't turn around to look back at her. those words, i wasn't ready to say.

"bye mom."

"he kissed your cheek?!" chaeri suddenly raised her voice.

"ha! called it!" luna remarked.

"it's crazy. i didn't know what to do."
"that's totally so cute!"

i rolled my eyes and thought of last night.

"yah, you should be thankful at least someone's totally interested in you. i mean, many girls only wish to be noticed by someone... anyone!" chaeri told me.

"chaeri's right," luna said adding a chuckle after that.

"of course, chaeri's right...," i mumbled.

i felt a hand pat my back slightly before i looked to see chaeri standing beside me. "don't be afraid to like someone."

i gulped and looked away.

"how can you make it sound so easy."

"hey, i'm home!"

"unnie! guess who's here!" eunbyul's voice shouted. i slipped off my shoes and threw my handbag on the couch before entering the kitchen area. but the moment i entered in, my eyes widened.

"hoseok?"

he smiled looking at me. "hey, um, i just wanted to drop by...," he softly said.

i stood there when my mother came into the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. "oh, you're back home from work," she smiled. "hoseok wanted to visit by."

"i can see that," i said and then looked at him. "hoseok, a word please."

"wait, he's was just about to help me finish this puzzle," eunbyul said. i quickly took hoseok's arm and led him down the hallway, and into my room, closing the door behind me.

"what are you doing here?"
"i thought i'd visit."
"doesn't mean you can come swinging by whenever you please."
"i-i'm sorry..."

i stood there with my arms crossed as i watched him. maybe i needed to stop being so mean. would that change anything?

"no.. i'm sorry for being.. mean towards you," i softly said adding a sigh.

"no, you don't need to be sorry about anything," he said and ended up smiling once more.

"how can you smile like that... even when i treat you so mean."

"because... i know you're a good person. i might not know much of your past, but i know you now. i believe you have a good heart. maybe that's why i'm here... to bring the best out of you."

completely stunned, i stood there with no words coming out from my mouth.

no, he doesn't mean it haesoo. all boys are the same.

or maybe they're not. maybe he isn't the same...
