"eunbyul, can you help carry a bag please?" i asked as i struggled to carry all of them at once. eunbyul came over and grabbed one from my hands before we walked over to the front door and entered inside the house.
but we were already greeted by the seven very boys we had seen earlier at their practice building. "oh, haesoo! need help?" namjoon asked smiling as he was the closest one to the door.
"yes please," i said grunting slightly as i continued to carry most of the bags. namjoon and yoongi came over to grab a few bags before walking over to the kitchen placing them on the counter.
"thank you dear," my mother said smiling as she grabbed some of the garlic and onions out of the plastic bag and went straight away onto cutting them.
the others were gathered in the living room, along with eunbyul who was keeping them company. i saw hoseok on the corner of my eye, which i was hoping not to catch eye contact with... but of course, i did.
he gave a smile, the same smile i am always greeted with when i see him. he quickly walked over to me although i noticed yoongi watched us.
"hi," hoseok smiled sheepishly at me. i raised an eyebrow and watched him carefully. "hi hoseok," i said.
"you sound suspicious," he said. "can you blame me?" i said adding a small chuckle afterwards. i noticed he moved closer towards me causing me to be alert before i stepped back slightly.
"yah," i whispered, "you aren't going to kiss me, are you?"
he smirked. "maybe."
"you're crazy."
"crazy for you."i made a stank face as i shook my head, and laughed softly.
"you need a new joke."
"you boys go ahead and eat," my mother said as she placed the main bowls on the table. there was only enough that could sit at the table. my mother thought of the boys first as i helped her serve them food.
"ms. kang, please eat with us," jungkook spoke up.
"oh, no. you boys go on and eat first. i'll be satisfied seeing you boys getting meals you need," my mother said and then smiled at them.
seeing my mom all of a sudden like that to the boys made me admire her. was that how she felt when she cared for me when i was young? she really loves them like they're already her own sons even though she only met them just hours before. but most importantly, i knew it was the same love she had with my sister and i.
and just for a split second, i felt something wet fall dow my cheek.
"haesoo? are you okay?"
i stopped to see it was hoseok who asked me that. quickly, i turned wiping away the tear on my cheek. thankfully, no one bothered to pay attention, but hoseok was obviously concerned.
"i'm fine," i said softly.
"haesoo, go eat now. are you not hungry dear?" my mother asked. i sniffed a bit before turning around to face her, acting like nothing happened although hoseok wasn't convinced.
"i'll let them eat first," i said.
"nonsense! here... an extra bowl. go eat," she said to me.
and it was at that moment, i smiled looking at my mother.
i really owe a lot of things to my mother.
