"Y/N." Jughead said softly, opening the door to his girlfriends bedroom slowly. He looked inside and found her asleep, her face buried in the covers and her dog, cat, and camera on the bed beside her. "Y/N." he said again, and she shuffled slightly in her sleep. "Hmm." she said quietly, opening one eye to see who was bothering her and her sleep. "Are you awake?" he asked, taking off his laptop bag and placing it on the floor, making his way towards the bed. "No." she mumbled, stretching and yawning. "You seem pretty awake to me." Jughead chuckled, taking a seat on the edge of the bed. "Yeah, whatever. I am now, now what do you want?" she said teasingly, grabbing Jugheads arm and pulling him down to lay with her. "I just wanted to say happy birthday to my beautiful girlfriend, that's all." he replied, bringing her head to rest on his chest. She snuggled into him, and smiled. "Well thank you." she said, lazily drawing circles onto his chest. They laid in silence for a few minutes, sleep starting to take Y/N again, but before it could happen Jughead shifted so he was laying and facing Y/N. "What are we going to be doing to celebrate today?" He asked, and she sighed. "Lay here and do nothing." she suggested, and Jughead chuckled. "No, I refuse to let you not celebrate your birthday, it's important." he said, and she playfully scoffed. "You don't even like birthdays, Mr.Dont Tell Anyone It's My Birthday." she teased, and he rolled his eyes. "Well I want to celebrate yours, come on. Get out of bed, get dressed and let's go to Pops for some breakfast, sound good?" Y/N pretended to think about it for a second and reluctantly nodded. She jumped out of bed, her dog Angel and cat Crow following her as she made her way to her bathroom.

"Come on, I know you can walk faster than that." Jughead called, the sun beating down on him and Y/N. He turned to see Y/N bending down, her camera in her hand pointed towards a couple on a bench in the park. She snapped her shot and regained her posture, jogging to catch up to Jughead. "Sorry, I thought it looked nice." She apologized, and Jughead chuckled. "There's no need to apologize, I was just teasing you." he explained, and she smiled, putting her camera in her bag and taking his hand. They walked side to side in the morning light, finally making it to Pops. They walked in and Pops spotted the girl, smiling brightly her way. "Happy birthday, Y/N!" he called, and all the waiters smiled at her as well. "Thank you, Pops!" she exclaimed, and the waiters all made their way to her, circling around her and Pops joined them as well. They all started to clap, and Y/N blushed, hiding her face into Jugheads sleeve. "Happy Birthday To You!" "Happy Birthday To You!" "Happy Birthday Dear Y/N!" "Happy Birthday To You!" the waiters all sang, and she laughed. "And may you have many more!" Jughead added, and the waiters all cheered, throwing their hands up. "Thank you all!" she replied, her face still burning crimson. The waiters dispersed but Pops remained, holding his arms open to give Y/N a hug. She flew into his arms and accepted his warm embrace, smiling into his shirt. "Happy Birthday girly, I had a sneaking suspicion you'd come in this morning, so I made you and Jughead some special waffles, go take a seat and I'll bring them over." he said warmly, and she nodded, taking Jugheads hand again and making her way to the booth. She took a seat and Jughead slid in next to her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and bringing her closer to him. "You called Pops didn't you?" she questioned playfully, and Jughead gave a breathy chuckle. "What?? No. Not at all, why would you-" Y/N gave him a knowing look, and he sighed, his cover being blown. "Fine, you got me. I called him while you were getting ready." he confessed, and Y/N giggled. "That was sweet of you." she commented, and Jughead looked at her surprised. "You're not mad?" he asked. "Why would I get mad at you, you were being nice and thoughtful. It would be dumb of me to get angry." she said, and he nodded. Y/N looked back and noticed Pops approaching the table, so she quickly got out her camera and took a picture of him as he arrived. She looked down at the camera, smiling at the photo. Pops looked so genuinely happy, as he usually did, as he placed down two plates of waffles on the table. She even got him smiling. "I don't look too bad, right?" Pops asked, and Y/Ns attention fell onto him instead of the camera. "Not at all. Sorry I just-" "There's no need to apologize, just give me a copy, if you could." he requested, and she smiled and nodded. "Thank you so much for breakfast." she said sweetly, and Pops chuckled. "You're very welcome. Thank you for coming to celebrate with us." he replied, giving a wink and making his way back to the kitchen. Jughead and Y/N ate their breakfast, small talk scattered in between bites and laughs. When the waffles were gone, Jughead left a tip on the table and him and Y/N left. Jughead took her hand in his, and they started to walk, making their way down the streets of Riverdale to Archie's house. As they walked, Y/N found that the sunlight was hitting Jughead in a flattering and appealing way, half of his face lit up in golden light and the other shadowed. She removed her camera from her bag and ran ahead of Jughead, capturing a picture of him while he was off guard. She stared down at the picture and admired it. He looked so happy and handsome, beanie-less hair flying all over the place and his bright smile he seemed to save just for her. "Are you laughing at my face?" he asked, and she shook her head, showing him the picture. "Hey, you took one where I don't look half bad." he teased, and she rolled her eyes, putting her camera back in her bag. "You look just as handsome as always." she replied, and he laughed, kissing the top of her head before wrapping his arm around her waist as they walked the rest of the way to Archie's.

"You go in first." Jughead said, nudging her towards the door, and she turned to face him, eyeing him suspiciously. "What do you have up your sleeve, Mister?" she asked playfully, but he just shrugged and nodded towards the door. "Go in and find out." he said, and she smiled, taking her camera out from her back and turning the knob to Archie's front door and entering. "Happy Birthday, Y/N!" Archie, Kevin, Betty, Polly, Reggie, Josie, Valarie, Melody, Veronica, and Cheryl yelled, and Y/N brought her camera up and snapped a shot of them all smiling and laughing. "Thank you!" she said, lowering her camera and putting it back in her bag. She made her way to all of her friends and gave them all hugs, thanking them for coming to celebrate with her. She set her camera bag down, looking at all of her friends who came to wish her a happy birthday. Just then, Angel and Crow came running out, and she smiled and looked at her friends surprised. "How the hell did you get into my house?" she asked, and Archie shrugged. "Not only am I a musician and a football player, I'm also a magician, and magicians never tell." he said smugly, and she laughed. "I'm going to need to know so I can make sure it doesn't happen again." "What? He thought that you should celebrate with your kids as well." Reggie said playfully, defending Archie. Jughead sneakily picked up her camera bag up off the ground and took it out, snapping a photo of her arguing with Reggie and Archie over the whole 'petnapping her dog and cat' situation. He looked at it and laughed to himself. All three of them looked amused, but Y/Ns face had a hint of worry mixed into it. As the day continued, the friends hung out around Archie's house, all enjoying the feeling of being kids for once, times like this didn't come often. Jughead took it upon himself to take all the photos of Y/N as he could though, he always admired the beautiful photos she took of her environment and friends around her, she was never in them, and he thought that was a shame. To him, she was the prettiest picture of them all, and this was the first time in ages he had seen her truly happy. One picture he took was while her, Betty, Veronica, Josie, and Cheryl were all dancing like idiots, laughing and bent over. Her smile shone the brightest out of all the girls he felt, her (y/h/c) hair sprawled out across her face. Another he took was when Archie and Reggie were trying to teach her to throw a football, which she failed miserably at the first few times but soon got the hang of. In the picture she's getting ready to throw it, Reggie and Archie were on the other side of the yard, with their arms outstretched. She looked so beautifully concentrated, and it was a somewhat funny picture. He loved it none the less. Then he got a picture he swore was his favourite, Valarie, Melody, and Kevin brought out a birthday cake near the end of the night, after hours and hours of laughter and talking. Y/N had Archie, Betty, Cheryl, Josie, Veronica, and Reggie behind her, and the candles from the cake illuminated her face in contrast from the dim lighting in the room. Jughead took it from the side so he could get everyone in the picture, everyone but himself of course. He took it while she was smiling, admiring her friends and the cake. This is where she looked truly beautiful. You could tell she was happy and grateful. It was a pure and emotional picture. They were just kids, and she was with those whom she cared for the most. It was when she blew out the candles though, and turned to face Jughead she noticed he had her camera and had taken a photo. "What are you doing?" She asked softly, and Jughead lowered the camera. "Taking pictures of your special day." he replied nonchalantly. She laughed and looked at him questioningly. "Have you been taking them all day?" she asked, and he nodded. "Thank you, Jughead. I was actually thinking earlier on how I wish I had captured pictures of this day, because it's been one of the best in my whole life." She said, addressing all of her friends, and they all smiled admiringly her way. Jughead quickly picked the camera up and took another picture, and she laughed and shot him a look. She walked over and took the camera out of his hands, placing it on a table behind him and she brought him down for a kiss. "Awe." Everyone said, and they pulled apart, laughing. "How about we break into this cake?" Cheryl asked, and everyone nodded, cutting into it and passing pieces to eachother. While everyone ate, Betty looked over and noticed Y/N and Jughead sitting together, smiling and laughing and eating. "It's a shame Jughead wasn't in any of the pictures he took, I'm sure Y/N would have loved to see him in them." Veronica whispered, noticing the two of them as well. "Yeah, she deserves at least one of them together on her special day. Maybe I'll right that wrong." she said, placing her cake down and grabbing Y/Ns camera. She brought it up and waited for the perfect time to snap a photo. She watched as Jughead took a piece of cake and smushed it onto her face, the both of them breaking out into laughter. Betty took a photo of the moment, smiling to herself. Y/N leaned over and kissed Jughead, and Betty took another photo. When they pulled apart, they rested their foreheads against the other, and stared admirably at eachother, and Betty took one last photo. She placed the camera on the table and continued to eat, the friends enjoying the rest of their night. Little did Jughead know, those would soon become his favourite photos instead, and Y/N would be forever thankful for Betty that night. She would be grateful for all of her friends that day, as well, they made it her best birthday.
