"If I have to hear about how living on her own is hard one more time, I swear I'm going to lose it!" Jughead said angrily, slamming his lunch tray on the table, taking his friends by surprise.
"What do you mean?" Archie asked, and Jughead rolled his eyes.
" 'I don't know why it's so expensive to live here in Riverdale, this town is a hell hole and there's barely anyone here anymore, I guess that's just how they make their money, by ripping off the people who live here,' or 'I love Pops, don't get me wrong, but if I get scheduled to work another night until four am on a school night, I'm going to lose it. He always apologizes and I'm too nice to say anything, I know he needs the help and I need the money, but I also need sleep!' " Jughead went off, impersonating his best friend, Y/N.
"Maybe you should cut her some slack, her situation isn't the best." Betty said, and Jughead scoffed.
"I was homeless because of my dad and his shit decisions and lived in the Drive Inns shack, and you didn't hear me bitching about it." he said, eating one of his fries. "She ran away from home because her dad wasn't nice and she was fortunate enough to find an apartment to live in, but that's all I hear about, how hard everything is."
"Jughead, seriously, you're being kind of a jerk." Veronica said, and he rolled his eyes.
"Why, because I'm venting about Y/N and her non-stop complaining? When she does it none of you bat an eye but now when I do it, everyones against me." he argued.
"Maybe because Y/N has real problems to complain about, and not just some snake who doesn't like being someones safe spot." Cheryl said, and Jughead went to argue but she held up her hand. "That girl trusts you enough to let her guard down and complain every once in awhile about her troubles and hardships instead of keeping it all in until she explodes, and here you are, complaining about it. Honestly, its quite rude, and that's coming from me. If she trusted me enough to vent to me, I'd be glad to listen, because I know what it feels like to want to talk to someone but have no one around." Cheryl finished, taking a deep breath.
