Jughead was working in the Blue and Golds office, expecting his best friend  and crush Y/N to come bursting through the door at any moment. Currently he was reading probably the worst attempt at an article in the worlds whole history of articles, which didn't make any sense since Betty, who was a great writer, wrote it. As his eyes scanned the document, the pain in his head grew, and he began to get more frustrated with it. He was so frustrated in fact, that he hadn't noticed that Y/N came into the room. It was only when she spoke that he noticed.

"Well  you seem concentrated." Y/N said, taking a seat on the other side of the desk he was occupying, and his gaze shot up from his laptop to the girl.

"Just a bit." he said, nodding. "I'm trying to edit Bettys article on the football teams victory in the play offs, but its so bad, its like she didn't even write it." he admitted, and Y/N giggled.

"What do you mean?" she asked, and the boy rubbed his temples, trying to alleviate some of the pressure and pain he was feeling in his head.

"Betty is a great writer, don't get me wrong." he started.

"Uh huh." Y/N nodded, entertained by the boys frustration.

"But reading this gives me a headache. Its like she didn't even write it, she just let her boy toy Archie take a stab at writing an article and decided that even though it makes no sense, it was good enough to publish." he groaned, shutting his laptop, sending a glare towards the laughing girl in front of him.

"Who knows, maybe she did let him write it, just to piss you off." she suggested, and he rolled his eyes.

"Or even more plausible, Archie got ahold of her laptop and wrote the article for her, partly to take a stab at me and partly to help his girlfriend out." Jughead said, and Y/N nodded.

"Probably. He's a sweet guy for trying to help her out, but he needs to stick to what he's good at. It would be like if you decided to fill in for him on the football team." Y/N joked, and Jughead chuckled.

"That would never happen." he said, and Y/N opened her laptop, turning it on.

"Why not?" she asked sarcastically, and Jughead gave a half smile, glaring at the (y/h/c) girl. "Nevermind, they'd break you like a twig." she said, and he laughed, flipping her off. She wasn't wrong, of course, but it was still a jab at his masculinity, and usually, he wouldn't care. Usually though, but with Y/N, he did. He didn't want her to think of him as a twig, he wanted her to think of him as the big man that could protect her. Isn't that what most men want girls to feel like when they're around them... he thought it was normal.
