Lysandra had been up late discussing strategy and was extremely exhausted when she flopped on the couch, accidently falling asleep, Lysandra's head on his lap. They slept through the night but the next morning Aedion was first to rise. He looked down at the girl with the flawless face. He was Idly stroking her messy black hair when she purred. He moved his hand away, hesitantly. Should he stop? Lysandra nuzzled her head against his open hand, an invitation to continue. Aedion looked down and smiled. Gods she was perfect.

Lysandra laid on the couch with Aedion standing just in the other room, working up the courage to ask her out when Rowan walked up to him.
"Awwe."
"Shut up."
"Does little Aedion have a crush on Lysandra?" He reached out to pinch his cheeks but Aedion stumbled back a few steps, just into the other room where Lysandra sat.
"I swear to the gods Whitehorn if you don't shut your da-"
Just then Lysandra looked up from her nails to see the boys arguing. "What are you boys up to?" she asked.
Aedion's face flared red and Rowan patted him on the back. "Well actually my boy Aedion here-"
Aedion turned and tackled Rowan to the floor. A mess of fists and incoherent yelling at each other.
Aelin chose that moment to walk in and stand behind Lysandra. "What the hell?"
Lysandra shook her head. "Men."
🤷~🤷~🤷
Aedion stood outside of Aelin's room where her and Lysandra were talking.
"Why don't you just kiss him then?" Asked Aelin.
"What if all I can think is how I'm kissing you."
"Wouldn't that make the experience even better?"
Lysandra laughed.
"Because you don't have a crush on me."
"So?"
"Fuck me." Aelin said flatly.
"Okay." Lysandra replied gleefully.
"That's not how that was suppose to go. You talk dirty to me."
"I want you in my bed in that golden nightgown so I can see that pretty little ass of yours-"
Aelin cut her off. "If you can talk dirty to me then you can do it with Aedion."
"That's my point though. What if I can only do it with you because we're best friends."
"Your friends with Aedion."
"Kissing Aedion would feel like kissing you and-'
"As great as that would be," Aelin interrupted.
"I simply can't do it." Lysandra told her.
Aedion looked to the floor and walked back down the hall. She liked him and he liked her. This wasn't fair.
😭~😭~😭
Lysandra and Aelin sat in the sitting room, conversing about gods knew what. He was on a mission.
"Aelin."
"What?" She turned to him with a tired look on her face.
"I think I found something I'm better than you at." He smirked.
Aelin jumped up in anger. "No way! I'll prove I'm better, what is it?"
This was the best part. "Kissing."
"Oh your on. Who's the judge? Cause there's no way I'm kissing you."
Aedion shrugged as if he hadn't thought this through even though it was all part of the plan. "I would say Prince Rowan but he would be biased so, since Lysandra is standing right there. I think she should do it."
Aelin whipped her head back to look at her friend. "Please?"
She sighed. "I suppose. Who's first?"
"We'll save the best for last." Aedion yawned. "So naturally, Aelin's first."
Fire danced at Aelin's finger tips. "I hate you."
Aelin turned to Lysandra and kissed her with everything she had. She even did the tongue thing that Sam had taught her at the end causing Lysandra to gasp for air. Aelin had held her face in her hands and kissed her so passionately. You wouldn't think she were doing it on a dare, no. They could have been lovers, the way that she pressed her body against Lysandra's. She used tongue. How could he compete with that?
Aelin spun around, a grin tugging at her lips. Cheeks pink, she patted his face. "You're up, lover boy."
Aedion stood, facing Lysandra. Her face was bright red. Nothing compared to the initial flame that had licked Aelins cheeks but he had to be better than her. He wiped away a glimmer a sweat from his forehead. He had to do this perfectly.
He wrapped one hand around her waist, the other behind her neck. This was amateur stuff compared to what Aelin did, she had her hands either tangling themselves in her hair or holding her ass.
He let his eye's bear into Lysandra's but this wasn't a romantic contest, it was a kissing contest and Aelin was starting to get impatient. "Scared your going to lose?"
Aedion had had enough of this. He pulled her face to his and kissed her. The hand on her neck suddenly felt useless so he moved it down to her waist. He tried to kiss her as best as he could but all his experience suddenly went out the window. He couldn't recall anything. He ended up just kissing her more forcefully, as if this were going to help win her over.
Eventually, he pulled away and Aelin snickered. She wasn't breathless or anything. Her cheeks were a little pink but... gods that must have embarrassing for her. He immediately felt bad for even proposing this contest.
"What's the verdict?" Aelin glanced at him pitifully.
"Well there's no doubt that Aelin was way better."
"Ha! Yes! In your face Aedion! You gonna go cry to your mommy? Huh? Huh? Awe, you look so embarrassed. Not so tough now, are you?"
"But," Lysandra continued.
"But what? I won. You said so. There are no buts, Lysandra."
"Wanna go out for supper?"
"Gladly." Aelin responded.
"No, Aedion."
"That amateur?"
Lysandra gave him Aelin a knowing look. "His was cute."
"I-I'm not doing anything." He stuttered.
Aelin snorted. "He doesn't even know how to accept an offer of a lifetime. You'd be better off taking me out and we just trade places during the bedroom bit. Or I could stay and you could just date me."
"I don't think Rowan would like that much." Aedion told her.
"We can trade. You can have Rowan and I'll get Lysandra."
That shut him right up. Even one night with the legendary prince would be more than he could ever hope for.
"Great. Meet you at the front gate at dinner time."
"Yes m'am."
"Just to clarify." Aelin questioned. "I am a better kisser, right?"
"Way better." Lysandra laughed.
Aelin looked to Aedion. "You should practice on Rowan before your date."
Aedion swallowed, actually debating.
"Pathetic." She spat. "Tell him I sent you."
Aelin trailed Lysandra out of the room but as soon as the door closed behind them, Aedion heard them burst into a fit of giggles. He wandered in the general direction of the kitchen.
Where would Prince Rowan be this time of day anyways?
