Innocence

Evangeline was nearly shaking, hands balled into fists. Her teeth were clenched as she worked hard from making her words sound loose and voice not strained. By strained she meant being five seconds from hitting this guy with a chair. In the back of the head. Really, really hard.

She had lived a short life, having become a teenager only recently. Well not recently as she was 15 but, she cared not to indulge in the same activities as other girls her age. She didn't curse aloud, didn't drink and most certainly did not do drugs. Not that she frowned upon any of these things, they just weren't for her.

Sure, she drank wine every now and then. Yeah, when she's with her friends a curse or two may slip. And yeah, she has been around when they got lit, not that she partook but, it just wasn't something to spark her interest.

She dispised the smell of beer, hated being in a distorted state of mind and to be honest she didn't get the majority of the sex jokes made to or around her.

She didn't want to sound like a prick, but she was a fairly innocent, pure child.

And now she's got this bitch Aedion on her case.

He had fallen into a sort of parental role for her, be he didn't treat her like it in all the ways he should. Just because he had the role doesn't mean he had earned all the responsibilities that might come with it. Like now, when he was possibly a bit drunk and being a jerk.

He's standing there on the other side of the kitchen island, going off about how much of a bad child she is. Not bad as in a privileged snob from the queen (she used that control in modesty, only Aelin really knowing how) but from what she did in her free time.

"I don't know why you don't believe me." She made out through clenched teeth. "I'm pure. I don't spend my time with stuff like that. It's icky."

He snorted. "Icky." As if it were a joke to him.

"I don't even drink." A fact that should have been apparent that she was home for dinner every night, and never left afterwards unless for a legitimate event.

He though that it was funny, still. "Yeah, well I was there that time you got drunk and was crushing so hard on whats her face."

For a brief moment, Evangeline remained genuinely confused.

Ah, he must have been referring to the night two or three years back at one of Aelin's party's (the crazy kind, not the formal) where he had forced her to drink. Spent about an hour bothering her about it before giving it. That wasn't a bad night, her second time drinking and getting legitimately drunk. Aelin was outraged she had awoken the next morning without sign of hangover.

(Her first time was with Manon, third Aelin.)

That party however had Asterin in attendance, a witch she couldn't deny finding somewhat attractive.

For months Aedion teased her about this 'crush' that to this day she still denies.

She was so overly annoyed with Aedion she just wanted to scream. .

She would have loved to scream at him because clearly he thought she was a pot-smoking, sailor-mouthed boozer who couldn't keep her legs shut.

It was driving her insane that that image was the literal opposite of who she was, and yet he wholeheartedly believed it. Therefore, why doesn't she just go out and do all those things and be that person.

He wouldn't stop her. The witches wouldn't. Aelin would keep her from drugs, possibly Lys as well. She didn't know about the others. She did know that she took offense that they thought she would become a pole dancing so soon after leaving the sex industry.

Even if she were only a child. And that it was several years ago. It was still traumatizing.

She stood waiting for him to stop  but the comments just kept coming. He promised to ask her best friend of her innocence next time he saw her. A promise she knew he intended to keep.

She was literally shaking with anger and frustration, but that was okay. She was okay. She breathed carefully in and out.

She was used to him, he had good intentions. It was that he didn't know how to treat a girl her age, especially one he was supposed to be 'parenting'.  If it were Lysandra, it would be a completely different story.

She was there for nearly half an hour before pursing her lips, slipping the blanket she was wrapped with tightly around her and marched out of the room.

She worked hard to be where she is. She was offended that such things were thought about her. As far as she was concerned, he was a drunken ass.

If he wanted a rebellion, he would get a whirlwind of it.

A/N

I have quite a few stories in which Evangeline is a rebellious teenager but some people think that she would not turn out like that. Well she didn't, and this is sort of the back story as to why she became super rebel-y for those people.

Can you tell this is from a personal experience?

I got this account an Instagram (same name @lilofae1234 ) so check that out I post updates and quotes for my stories.

Don't forget to vote and comment, it means a lot to me when you do.

Goodnight,

Xoxo
