I think this is a widely accepted headcanon with almost everyone in the Camp Camp fandom but, here it is.

I headcanon that Max plays the violin but didn't exactly learn it by choice.
He was probably forced to learn it at school or from his parents and then just actually enjoyed it once he got good at it ( though he would never admit that to anyone, especially David)
