Betty's POV: I walked into Pop's to not find any familiar people, like I was used to. In our booth, I saw three other people. Two girls, and one boy. One girl had blonde hair, and the other had black. "Reminds me of us, Betty." Said Veronica. "Yeah. Well it's not complete yet." I said while walking up to Pop. "Order for Cooper." I said, and watched as he went to the back, and returned with my bag. "Thanks Pop." I said, and he waved goodbye. As I was walking out, I saw another boy sit down at our old booth. "Now is it complete?" She asked me. "No." I said, and walked out.
"Took you guys long enough." Said Cheryl, while I sat down in the car. "We took two minutes, Cheryl." I argued. "Can you just take me home please?" I asked her. She locked her phone, and started the car.
"Betty." Said Veronica. "What?" I asked. "You got a text or something." She pointed to my phone. I picked up the phone that was in a pink case, and saw not a text, but a notification. Jellybean's Birthday! I'd forgotten to take that out of my calendar when everything happened. I unlocked my phone and went to my calendar. All of my old high school events and friends birthdays were still in there. "B, are you ok?" I felt a hand on my shoulder. "I'm fine." I said. "No you're not." Said Cheryl. "No one asked you Cheryl." I said. All I got was a dirty look.
When Cheryl stopped the car in front of my house, I got out fast, not bothering to wave to Cheryl. "Betty, wait! Can we talk?" I heard Veronica yell behind me. I rolled my eyes, and she followed me inside. I plopped down on my bed, and waited for her to speak. "You have text books all over the place." She said. "Yeah. That's what college does to you." I replied. "I was meaning to talk to you..about Arch." She finally said. "What? That he totally changed after it happened?" I asked. "He couldn't help it." She argued. "Why'd you forgive him?" I asked her. "He'd had so many drinks that night, B. In the morning, I had to explain to him everything that had happened the last day. Even the last morning." She said. "How do you know he won't get drunk again, and do something worse?" I asked. "I don't. But he regretted it. Truly." She finished. "The question was about Arch...and Jughead." She said. I filled the inside of my cheeks with air when his name came out of her mouth. "What're you doing?" She asked me while staring at my puffed out cheeks. "Nothing. Continue." I said. "Were you just mad at Archie because it ruined your relationship?" She asked me. "What?! I was mad because he kissed me after I said I loved his best friend!" I argued. "Ok, don't get mad." She calmed me. I grabbed my pillow, and threw it onto my face. I growled into the pillow letting all of my anger out. "How come I never see him at all anymore?" She asked me. "He basically died." I mumbled into the pillow. "Seriously. Does he just hide from us?" She said. "He just stays home all of the time. I see his dad around, and he says hi. That's all though." I removed the pillow from my face. "Have you tried calling or texting him?" She asked me. "No. He hates me." I said. "No, he hates Archie now. You didn't do anything, B." She said. I opened my mouth to speak, only to get dizzy. My stomach struck with pain, and I quickly got up, and ran to the bathroom.
"B? Are you ok?" Veronica knocked on the locked door. "I'm fine." I said while opening the door. "What just happened?" She led me to my bed. I got into bed, and curled up into a ball. "I don't know. I've been feeling sick, but that was the first time I got physically sick." I said. "Well, get some rest. Try taking a shower, and I'll be back later. Think about calling, B." She said. "Ill see you later." I said. She smiled and walked out.
Jughead's POV: I hadn't been around Pop's or anyone's house for a while. I couldn't trust anyone, so there was no since in having any friends. They'd all just disappear completely one day, and I wouldn't see Betty's ponytail and Cheryl's curly hair from afar any longer.
It was going amazing. Betty and I's relationship was the best it had ever been, and we were closer. At least I was convinced Archie approved. Veronica was head over heels for Archie. And we were all friends. I was planning my future and everything, but all of it had to involve Betty, all around. And then one day all of my plans got thrown away, into the trash. I'd seen Archie and Betty talking. He looked serious, and she looked upset. I was walking towards them when I stopped. Archie kissed my girl. Again. Of course she pulled away, and she said something. She walked my way, and didn't know I saw the whole thing. Archie saw me first.
I was so tired of hearing the word "sorry". Or "it was a mistake". But most of all, I was tired of hearing Archie apologize to Betty. He told me everything. About how he was drunk, he didn't remember a thing, and it wouldn't happen again. I'd half forgiven him. Betty on the other hand, we just faded away more every day. And I hadn't talked to her in forever.
But somewhere deep down inside, I wanted to. Not just deep down, but I needed to talk to her.
