Ch. 18 : Did I mention I have a pool?

"I didn't know you lived in this neighbourhood." Riley said as we turned onto my street.

"Don't tell me you live here too?" I said sarcastically.

She rolled her eyes. "No, but Aiden does."

I nodded in acknowledgment as I directed her to pull into my driveway.

When we got inside we immediately slipped off our shoes and flopped onto the couch and turned on the TV. Hey, what can I say, we're teenagers.

The TV was on the shopping channel, my mom likes to watch it. Yuck

I looked on the coffee table for the remote, but it wasn't there.

"Hey, is the remote on your side?" I asked Riley, still looking through the couch.

"No." She said as she started to look with me.

After about 10 minutes of unsuccessful looking we finally gave up.

We glared at the screen as they were having a promo for prada bags. Could this be anymore boring?

"Did I mention I have a pool?" I said turning to her, I have definitely had enough of prada.

"Nova, it's December." She said with a serious face.

"So? It's heated."

"Then that sounds like an excellent idea."

We ran upstairs and I lended her one of my suits. My bathing suit was purple and black. Definitely my style. I lended Riley my black and white polka dotted one.

We ran downstairs and I turned on the water heater. My mom spent a lot of money on the pool, it heats up fast. 

I dangled my hand in the water to make sure it was warm, felt like a jacuzzi.

I ran over to the deep end and plunged myself into the water. It felt so good.

Riley did the same and we laughed as we rose to the surface.

We spent at least 30 minutes in the water talking, swimming and cannon balling, when all of the sudden, we both jumped when we felt something plunge into the other end of the pool, we were sitting in the shallow end.

I seriously was going to have a heart attack, and kill who ever had just scared the hebejesus out of me, until I saw the familiar mop of blonde hair rise to the surface, making bubbles as he laughed.

Alex had jumped into my pool, clothes and all.

I rolled my eyes and swam to the other end towards him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"You sure know how to scare someone, you know that?" I said smiling.

"I only did it out of love." He said sarcastically.

I kissed him on the cheek as Riley swam towards us.

"Alex, I swear to god if you ever do that again, I'll personally make sure you never have children." She said swimming over and hitting him on the shoulder.

"Come on it wasn't that bad." I said getting out of the pool, I felt like a prune. 

When I got out I realized that it was December, and all I had on was a bikini.

"Holy fuck!" I said running towards the house.

Riley and Alex followed, we walked through the kitchen and I got a few towels out of the hall closet.

We sat down at the kitchen table and turned on the TV. Did I mention we had a TV in the kitchen? Yeah, when my mom got lucky in Vegas and bought the house, she went all out.

Riley left at about six and then it was just me and Alex. We sat together on the couch watching a Friends rerun. By the way, the remote was in the kitchen, don't know how the fuck it got there.

My mom came from downstairs and I shut off the TV and got up. "Hey mom."

"Hi sweetie." She said walking into the kitchen and grabbing the coffee pot off the percolator and poured herself some coffee.

Alex got up off the couch and stretched. "I'd better be going. My dad gets pissed when I stay out too late."

"No." I said pouting as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I have to go, I'll talk to you tomorrow at school." He said kissing me.

He walked over to the couch and put on his jacket that was draped on the arm rest. And walked over to the door and sent me a smile as he walked out the door.

Before I knew it, it was the last day of school before winter break. Most of the teachers had us do christmas related activities, as if we were 4th graders. Only my chemistry teacher would give homework over the break, she was a old hag that never smiled. Hope she gets coal on christmas.

The last bell rang, alerting us that we were officially out of school for 3 weeks. The school was chaotic. I mean, there was a literal stampeed.

I waited for the chaos to stop before I walked out of my class. I walked down the empty hallway, there were papers everywhere. You would of throught a copier upchucked here.

I walked out the doors and found a hand intertwined with mine and a arm around my shoulder. I glanced up at Alex and smiled.

"So what are you doing for the break?" He asked as we walked to his car.

"I don't know, same old, same old."

"Well, my dad wanted to know if you and your mom don't have any plans, if you guys wanted to have dinner over at our house on Christmas eve."

Oooh, gonna leave it at a cliffhanger, lol. Hi guys, sorry that I havn't updated in like a week, but I havn't been able to think of anything to write. :P

Sorry about the short chapter, but I PROMISE that the christmas chapter will be loong and good.

Also, how do you guys like Riley? I wanted her to be sorta a badass girl, like Nova, but more edgier.

Well, toodles! hopefully I'll write tomorrow or saturday. I might be staying at a friends tomorrow, so I might not get to updating tomorrow.
