Alone

Ch. 21 : Now that's what I call classy.

We had already been driving for at least two hours or more. I pulled out my phone and saw it was already 8.

I looked at everyone. Riley was on her phone, so was Aiden, and Ryder was sleeping with his headphones in his ears, his mouth hanging open.

I looked over at Alex. He smiled when he made eye contact with me.

I cleared my throat, getting the attention of everyone exept for Ryder, who was lost in la la land.

"Is it just me, or is anyone else hungry?"

"God yes!"

"I'm starving!"

"Yeah, I could use some food."

I heard everyone say, not paying attention to who was saying what.

Alex pulled off an exit and pulled into the nearest McDonalds drive through. Riley was in the middle of Ryder and Aiden in the backseat. She tapped him on the shoulder, and he screamed. you heard me right. He fucking screamed.

"Damn Ryder!" I yelled putting my hands over my ears.

"Sorry." He said pulling out his headphones and noticing where we were. 

"Yes! I'm starving!" he said, ready to jump out the window.

Alex pulled up to the box. "Welcome to McDonalds, order when you're ready." The voice through the speaker said.

"I'll have a 10 piece chicken McNuggets with a large coke and a large fry."I said.

"I'll have the same." Alex said.

"I'll have a chicken wrap and a large sweet ice tea." Riley said.

"I'll have a 20 piece chicken McNugget and a large fry." Aiden said.

"And I'll have a McRib, a large fry, a large diet coke, an apple pie and a Reeses Mcflurry." Ryder said.

We all looked at him in surprise. He glanced around and shrugged.

"What, I haven't eaten since this afternoon."

I rolled my eyes and listened to the total. I had brought at least $300 of birthday/christmas/saved up money for the trip.

When we got to the window, after the food was paid for, Alex passed the food out, to whom everything belonged to.

As we drove out of the parking lot, I popped a fry in my mouth as Alex grabbed about fifty napkins out of the glove compartment.

"Use these. If you spill anything in my car you're dead." he said handing the napkins to Riley, who rolled her eyes.

After about 20 minutes of talking and eating, everyone minded their own business. But after a couple hours, I fell asleep.

When I woke up, I looked in the back seat to see Riley cuddling next to Aiden and Ryder leaning his head on Riley's shoulder. I had to hold back an "Awwwe." Cause it was adorable.

I looked over at Alex, who smiled at me. He definitely looked tired. I took out my phone and It was already 12 am. Damn, how long did I nap for?

"Hey, you look pretty tired. Wanna stop at the next reast stop and let me drive? I can stay up until morning."

"Yeah. Thanks." He said grabbing ahold of my hand, entertwining our fingers and kissing the top of my hand. "Love you."

"Love you too." I said as we drove till the next rest stop.

We were in Florida now, Alex had told me. But we still had a long way to Disney. I hoped that we would make it by tomorrow as long as we didn't make anymore stops.
