I had told Alex that I would ask my mom. Knowing her, she'd say yes. I mean, I would love to spend some time with Alex during Christmas, but I've never ever spent quality time with his family.
When Alex dropped me off at home, I told him I'd text him later with an answer. I walked inside, dropped my bag near the door, slipped out of my converse and walked upstairs. My mom was in her room as I assumed, so I carefully opened the door and knocked lightly, poking my head inside.
She was in bed, on her laptop like she usually is. "Hi honey, you home from school already?"
"Yeah, it's the last day so they let us out early."
She looked up, "Oh yeah, today was the last day of school. So you're officaially on winter break."
I nodded. "So, what I came to ask you is..." I sat down on the bed.
"Well, what are we doing for Christmas?"
"Not much." She said with a sour face.
"Well, Alex and his dad invited us over for dinner on Christmas eve."
She looked up and smiled. "That's so nice of them, sure! I was just planning on making a small turkey, I hope we wouldn't be intruding though."
I shook my head, "It's probably just gonna be Alex, his dad and sister, Alex told me today."
"Then yes, that would be lovely." She said with a smile and went back to her work.
I hugged her and kissed her on the cheek, "Thanks mom!" I said as I got up and walked out to text Alex. I had forgot my phone at home today.
I walked in my room, grabbed my phone and flopped down on my bed and texted Alex, telling him that it was fine.
Alex : Sweet! Hey, can I come over? I'm bored :P plus I miss you >o<
I smiled at that last part and told him sure.

The next day, I woke up and walked downstairs in my oversized hoodie and my sweatpants. I made some coffee for myself and almost did a spit take when I realized that there were two days left to Christmas and I hadn't got a present for Alex.
I ran upstairs and got a box from under my bed. After I counted it, I had $175 saved up from miscellaneous jobs such as babysitting.
I had figured out what I wanted to get him, He had been eyeing a certain Falling In Reverse hoodie for weeks. Only problem was, I didn't have a ride.
My mom was still sleeping and I couldn't ask Alex. My only hope was Riley, hopefully she was already awake.
I dialed her number and put it on speaker as I got dressed.
"Hello?" She said in a perky voice.
"Hey Riley, it's Nova." I said while pulling on my black skinny jeans.
"Hey what's up?"
"Well, I kinda need to do some last minute Christmas shopping and I was really hoping you might be able to take me?" I said as I brushed my long light brown hair.
"Sure, I actually need a few things myself. Pick you up in five?"
I smiled and picked up my phone. "You're the best, yeah that's fine."
"Great see ya soon." She said, hanging up.
I turned off my phone and threw it on my bed and ran into the bathroom to brushed my teeth. I probably had dragon breath this early in the morning.
