Alone

Ch. 5 : If you would tell me where we're going

We walked down his stairs and when we got outside, I never knew he had a car.

"I didn't know you had a car." I said as we walked towards the black sports car.

"Yeah. Had to work my ass off to get it too." He said as he unlocked the door and let me in.

When I sat down in the front seat, it smelled like a mix between cologne and new car smell. It had a black interior. Like everything was black except the headlights.

"So...You like it?" He gestured to the car.

"Yeah, but I'd like it more if you would tell me where we're going." I said, eyeing him with suspicion.

He looks at me and cocks one eyebrow. "Like I said, it's a surprise." He said smiling.

I sat back in my seat and pouted. He laughed as he started the car.

As we drove, which was for a while, I started to not recognize our surroundings.

I remained slouched in the comfy seat and closed my eyes.

“Wanna listen to some music?” Alex asked me and I opened my eyes.

“Sure. What CDs do ya got?” I asked, opening the glove compartment. I grabbed 4 CDs out and looked them over. He had two Sleeping with Sirens CDs, Feel and Let’s Cheers to This. The he had Falling in Reverse Fashionably Late, And last but not least he had Mayday Parade, Anywhere but Here.

I shrugged my shoulders and put in the Mayday Parade CD and turned it to shuffle and one of my favorite songs came on.

“I look back to the one and only summertime. And my girl was the envy of every friends of mine, She slept safely in my arms, We were so young and invincible.” I sang to myself and I noticed Alex look over at me.

“What?” I asked chuckling.

“I’ve just never heard you sing.” He said shaking his head and looking back to the road.

“Well, with your amazing taste in music, this car ride is gonna be full of it.” I said turning the volume up for the chorus.

“And we were just kids in love. The summer was full of mistakes we wouldn't learn from. The first kiss, stole the breath from my lips. Why did the last one tear us apart?” I sang nodding my head from side to side to the beat.

“You’re a pretty good singer.” He noted as I sang along to the song.

“Thanks.” I said in between the lyrics.

When the car stopped I jumped. I immediately looked out the window.
