(Long chapter warning!! More than 1000 words. I needed to fit this part of the story in Brendon's pov. Also remember that author's notes are italicized and bolded. Enjoy!)

"Uh, it's only..." Dallon checks his mint green watch. "11:00. We could go to my house, I guess. My mom is home since she didn't have work today, and I have tons of Dr. Pepper at my house."
I mentally scream out of joy and try to keep my cool. "Oh, cool. I guess we're going to your house." I'm ecstatic to go to Dallon's house again. I haven't been there in years! And he's finally warming up to me! We were singing together, and he smiles at me now! Could this day get any better?
I drive to Dallon's house and turn up the music. Dallon and I sing along, again. We're practically having a dance party in my car. I make sure to glance at Dallon once in a while. He looks so happy singing with me. I know I'm happy with him.
We're almost at the house. "Hey, I'm just going to park my car in my driveway. I mean, I live across the street." I laugh.
Dallon groans. "Uuuuugh I don't want to walk across the street thooooough." He giggles and throws his arms in the air. "Just kidding."
I scoff. "You're such a dork." I pull into my driveway and Dallon and I walk to his house. He unlocks it with his key and lets me in. We put our backpacks next to the door.
"Mom! I'm home!" Dallon yells when he gets inside the house and locks the door. I see the counter and the other flowers in a vase. They were from last week, but look slightly wilted. I always knew Dallon didn't have a knack for taking care of plants. He gets the bouquet of flowers I brought him today and replaces the wilted flowers with the new ones. He smiles.
Maybe they do make his Mondays better.
Dallon's mom walks into the foyer. I forgot she knew everything about Dallon and I. "Oh! Brendon, sweetie, hi!! Are you doing well? I'm so glad you're here!" I always liked the enthusiasm of Mrs. Weekes. She was such a kind and open mom.
"I'm good, Mrs. Weekes. Thank you." I say with a smile.
"Why are you boys here? You're still supposed to be in school." She asks.
I open my mouth to speak but Dallon beats me to it. "Uh... About that. Well," He takes a deep breath. "This bully kind of messed with Brendon in the hallway, and I tried to help, but that resulted in me getting kicked in the shin by the bully, and he fought with Brendon for a bit but two of our teachers pulled them apart and Mr. Wentz said we could go home...? Is that it?" Dallon turned to me.
I nodded. "Basically, yeah. That was a hell of a run-on sentence. Oh, actually, you forgot the part where the asshole insulted and hurt you so I landed him in the nurse's office." I ended the last bit with a smug grin.
Dallon laughs. "Yeah, that too. We got ice cream after being excused from school. We're just going to hang out here for the rest of the day. Primarly because I wanted Dr. Pepper."
Mrs. Weekes just stares at us with a concentrated face. Probably taking in everything we just said. "I'll talk to the school and Brendon's parents about that fight. Oh, are you two caught up on schoolwork? Are you missing anything at school right now?"
I shake my head. "No, I don't think anything important is happening in our classes. Plus, the teachers will let us off easy. Our school's not one for drama or action."
Mrs. Weekes nods and smiles. "Well, okay. Be careful at school, though. I don't want anything bad to happen to you boys."
Dallon scratches the back of his neck. "Hey, can we go now mom?"
