~The Next Day!~

Ryan Ross wasn't here today. He never showed up to school. It almost makes me sad because our apologizes to each other were genuine. I hope he's doing better.

The good news is that I'm with Dallon. We're very happy, and all our friends agree.

I'm pretty sure the whole school supports us, too. After years of pining over Dal, I think everybody is relieved that we got together. People were sick of me being so lovestruck.

Actually, not the whole school. Brent Wilson and Ian Crawford still exist. I don't even have classes with them, but I wonder what they think when I pass by in the hallways.

Dallon nudges me in the shoulder. I forgot we were doing homework together. "You're zoning out again. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." I look back down to my laptop with the assignment I'm supposed to do. "I hate writing essays."

"Do you want me to help you?" Dallon asks, moving closer to see what I've written so far.

I look up in fake despair and put the back of my hand against my forehead for added drama. "You can't. Your eyes are distracting. I'll never finish. I'll be blinded by beauty!"

He laughs. "Are you sure? Do you just want me to leave my own room too? I mean, what's the point in doing homework if you can't concentrate?"

"Nooooo, I need you here." I whine. "I take back what I said. Help me with the essay!"

He chuckles in response and takes the laptop to start typing. As soon as he stops typing a sentence and looks up in thought, he bites his lip. Classic Dallon.

"Wait, I have to do it myself. You can't write it for me." I state.

He shrugs. "I'm practically finished with my work. I'm bored. Let me do yours."

I reluctantly let him write it down while I say what I've researched so far. He's always been better at wording things than me.

We finish the essay together and I slip my laptop into my backpack. I cuddle with Dallon on his bed until we both fall asleep.

"Brendon, honey! Wake up, I made breakfast." I hear Dallon's mom cheer. "Oh, Dallon, get up too."

"Wow, thanks." He mutters, rubbing his eyes.

Dallon's mom laughs and walks down the hallway. I smile and turn to Dallon, who's grabbing his glasses from the nightstand beside us. Once he has them on, he returns the smile and pecks me on the cheek. I can feel my face turning red.

He stands up from the bed, and I follow suit. "Let's go."

We make it downstairs, where we smell the delicious aroma of waffles; one of the best breakfast foods in existence. After scarfing down the food, we say goodbye to Dallon's mom and walk out the door.

I hoist my backpack up and link hands with Dallon, who grins and begins to sway our hands back and forth. We walk to school with such pride I feel like I'm glowing. And now the author doesn't have to write about me walking to school alone anymore because I have Dallon with me.

And uh song references can make it more difficult for me to write so there may be a shortage of those ^
