I've been better. It's been hard seeing Y/N with him everyday, but I am managing. Today though, today was different. I was talking down the hall when I saw Y/N crying and Brett walking away. My blood immediately began to boil. I slowly walked up to her, to make sure I didn't scare her.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked, placing a gentle hand on her arm. She flinched and looked up. "Oh Theo, it's just you..Sorry I uhh...thought you were someone else." She said, grabbing her arm where my hand was. "Are you okay?" I asked. She nodded. "Yeah I uh-" she sniffled. "just had an eye lash in my eye." she said, wiping her cheeks. "Y/N, I know we aren't together anymore, but please don't lie to me. I'm just trying to make sure tha-" "Yes Theo, I'm fine. Can you please leave now?" she asked. "Yeah, yeah. I'm uh-I'm sorry." I said, looking down and walking away from her and out of the school.

Y/N lived next door to me, so I decided that I would go and see her after school when she got home.

When I knocked on the door, I heard yelling. I knocked again and that's when I heard it. I heard glass smashing and things being broken. I turned the door knob, praying that it was unlocked. When I knew it was, I slammed the door open and rushed up to her bedroom. I saw Y/N cowering in the corner with a wolfed out Brett standing over her. "Theo?! You need to go!" She yelled, running to me. "No I am not leaving you here." I said, grabbing her arm. "Theo please, just go!" She said again. I looked from her, to Brett, then back at her. "I'm sorry Y/N." was all I said before I lunged at Brett. I beat him until I felt Y/N pulling me away. "Theo stop!" She yelled. I pulled back my fist getting ready to hit him again until I heard her voice. "Theo stop...he's had enough." She said, grabbing my shoulders and pulling me away.

"You and I are finished Brett. Come near me again and there will be a restraining order." She said, shoving him out of the house. She closed the door and turned to face me. "Thank you." She said, sitting in the couch. "I'll always protect you." I said. Then she smiled. And not the 'I'm sorry' smile she used to give me after we broke up. A genuine smile, the one she gave me before we broke up. "Can I ask you something?" I asked. She nodded.

I know you don't love me anymore-at least not like you used too. But I am still madly in love with you. I have been a mess without you. I just needed to tell you. I'm sorry." I said, my vision becoming more and more blurry with every word.

"Theo.."she began, but I couldn't handle hearing it again. "Please, don't say it. I just-I just wanted you to know." I said, getting up to leave. "Theo..don't leave." She said, grabbing my arm. "I love you." She said, kissing me for the first time in what felt like forever.
