Cody and I had been dating for a while now. By a while I mean, he needed to show that he could commit for a family friendly role, and I was the one who got selected to pretend to date him. As it turns out, real feelings developed and for the past 9 months, Cody and I have been very public about our relationship.

"Hey babe," he greeted me as he walked through the door.

"Hey, how did the meeting with the production company go?" I asked. I really hoped he got this role. It would be life changing for him. He worked his ass off and nobody deserved this more than him.

"It was good..." he smiled and pulled out a huge packet of paper.

"You got it?!" I exclaimed and he pulled me into a big embrace.

"I couldn't have done this without you, y/n. Thank you for everything. I love you so much," he smiled.

"I love you too,"

*a few weeks later*

For the last few weeks, Cody and I visited the set, and he began filming. It was a six-month long filming so I would visit whenever I could. Sometimes he would know but other times he wouldn't.

This time, he didn't know. I was surprising him because I got an offer on my book that I'd been writing, and I was so excited about it.

I walked into his trailer and heard him on the phone with his team.

"No. I'm going to tell her it's over eventually I just need to find the right time. I only got this role a few weeks ago and I feel like it's too soon.... no. I'll tell her, Johnny. I just need time," he said, and he turned around to see me.

"Don't worry, I already know."  I said and walked out of the trailer. I was pissed. Embarrassed. Mortified.

"y/n, wait,"

"So, none of it was real? All of this...it ended up being fake....wow," I sighed.

"No, y/n stop. Please,"

"I know this started off as fake, but the past few weeks have felt very real to me...I though they were real to you too," I sobbed.

"They were, and are, I just needed to tell my-"

He reached for me but I pulled away. "Don't touch me...just let me go. Goodbye Cody..." I said and walked away.
