I loved my job and my co-workers more than anything in the world. Being an actress was something that I used to think was only a dream until it became my reality. I knew going in that I would get a lot of 'nos' before I got any yes's. But I worked my ass off trying to get to this point, and it's because of my drive and motivation that I got here.
I was on the TV show set that made me want to be an actress, Teen Wolf. I became a cast member in the second to last season, and they kept me on as a regular. They thought it was essential to give Theo the retribution and ending her so significantly earned. I was thrilled about every aspect of the job, aside from the one time of year I knew it would be hell.
"Convention time!" Cody yelled and pulled me into his side.
"Oh yay," I sighed.
"You aren't excited?" Cody asked. I shook my head. Convention time was the one time that I had to put on a show in front of everyone. Cody and I have been dating, and the only people that know are Jeff and the cast and crew. That's it. We kept it private and secret because we weren't ready to show the public yet. I knew what that meant, and I don't think I'm mentally prepared for that yet.
"This will be the last convention we have to do before we make it known, okay? I promise," he said and winked at me. I knew the hate that I would eventually get would affect Cody as well as me.
"I hate faking it, not because I can't handle hate. I hate lying to the ones I know would be happy, you know?" I sighed, and we walked into the building. It was Comicon San Diego, my favorite event to attend with everyone. They always made it so much fun, and with me being on the panel this year, it would be even more fun.
"I'm sure that if and when you do decide to tell everyone, they'll support it. Of course, the fans can get a bit crazy, but overall they are very kind-hearted." Tyler H. explained. He was right, and I knew that. I was just anxious and worried that something would happen where I would look stupid.
"You guys ready?" Jeff asked. Everyone nodded, and they began to announce our names one by one. Finally, Cody's name was called, and he walked out on stage, smiling and waving at everyone, and then it was my turn. I heard my name, and I plastered a smile on my face and walked out, waving and blowing kisses to everyone.
Before I knew it, we were 10-15 questions in, and a fan walked up to the podium.
"Hi! I want to say that I love you all so much. I have a question for Y/N and Cody. When you guys were doing a scene together or filming any of the more intimate moments, was any of that real? It seemed like most of it wasn't acting at all to me," she asked.
Cody and I leaned away from our mics, "Do you want to say it now?" he asked.
"I guess now or never," I laughed.
"Well, at first, the scenes were acting. The majority of season 6a was us just working. Then by the time the final season came around, it was more than that. He and I had become close, and we were always spending time together. The next thing I knew, he was taking me on a date," I laughed.
"So, are you guys confirming that you two are dating?" Holland asked, sending me a wink.
"Yes, we are. And we've never been happier," Cody smiled, grabbing my hand under the table.
I knew I hit the jackpot when I began dating him, this just made it even better.
